Lol - I bet a few curses were uttered when the check was uncovered

so a bit fraught in our household as the dress my OH ordered for my niece's wedding on Saturday and had been assured would be delivered today is still in the depot, and there was never a chance of it arriving - so cue some last minute making do (which is MSE but not by choiceI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Crisis averted on the wedding front. An outfit a touch more summery (but not overly so) than the time of year might suggest was deemed acceptable - so we're going with that. Trying not to spend too much, but I suspect I am not going to see much change from £400 travel, hotel, present and dinner with the family. I suspect I may be reporting some usage of CC this week - which I know is terrible should have been saving harder for this (we knew 18 months ago) - but what's here is here, and its not going away.I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Glad the outfit crisis was averted, always hard finding something to wear. Men have it relatively easy in their suits!
Weddings are a pricy business, lovely as they are. Going anywhere nice for it?DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

going to the south coast - a bit outside Brighton, in a small setting where all the action will take place on the one site so no convoys - about a dozen rooms for close friends and family, which are nicely laid out and quite new so had a good nights sleepI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

So the wedding was lovely, as was the bride -obviously - not religious but the venue had converted different buildings for different purposes - and part of the old farm house was a ceremony room, the next part was the old house for breakfast/dinner with the immediate family rooms, then a couple of blocks of guest rooms, and an old barn for the reception - it was draped internally and looked lovely. Even better the rooms were included in the package my brother had paid for. So not quite as dear - and the breakfasts were cooked by the owner were huge!. I did onward gift a lot of the estimated accommodation saving to my niece and I had mentally committed to the spend, even if it was going to be my usual juggling act with cards and economical monthsI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

very brief report for this week - I basically have been working or driving or wedding-ing since last Monday. As a consequence
- Money - spent infrequently but in quite large amounts
- Health - surprisingly normal considering (haven't stepped on the scales) but equally haven't stepped many other places either
I am looking forward to the weekend which is quiet apart from Friday night when we have a community pot luck supper event - which should be fun. I will spend some time doing a retrospective look back - as although I seem to be more organised and sailng serenely, there is a lot of frantic paddling going on under the water - and I have a few loose ends to pull together.
In food news, I made a lovely chilli con carne tonight after I got home early for the first time in a while. DS2 may foil my plans for lunch tomorrow as he can stack more into a tortilla and not make a mess than anyone I knowI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Wedding seems to have gone well, sounds lovely and a nice break.
I like that you are generous with your family. There is a world of difference between frugal and mean isn't there?
