Started today with a chilly walk outside the hotel as the gym was shut - at 06:10 so I shouldn't have been surprised - and did just under 2 miles (a mile out and a mile back) watching all the early bird commuters - then I had some breakfast and was still at work by 8.
today wasn't a veggie day as it started with a cooked breakfast from the hotel but I was good and didn't go crazy - except on the fresh OJ - but the glasses they provide were basically thimbles so hard not to refill
had to get petrol on the way home, so not a NSD - but also good to use my new solo account for the first time. OH had made a lovely veggie curry with coconut milk and baked cauliflower so that was a nice treat to come back to after a night away
nothing else of great significance to report - just starting the boring middle section of the month.I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Doing great! A weekly update sounds like a good plan. How are you finding your veggie days?
Well done on your steps, when I first got a fitbit a couple of years ago, I was genuinely shocked how few steps I did in a day. I was always busy, whether at home or work, but it doesn't reflect in steps. I found the habit of walking more hard at first, but is really relaxing and gives you a chance to switch off and think.DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

So we have often done a Vegan dish (for the kids) and then cooked (usually roasted) some meat for us. So now, I am just nothaving the meat and the rest is unchanged. Difficul thing with Vegan is probably the ingredient checking coz ther is odd stuff in a lot of things - plus I have to remember to use Soy or Almond milk in the morning. Its all fine - a lot of fuss and bother inthe media protraying them as evil or destoying the economy
I think with a fitbit you look to maximise the number of times you get up and aovid short cuts or lifts. A bit like this diary if its measured it gets done. Plus its the incentive of finally getting a bit fitter that has a lot to do with itI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Thank you pidge04 - yes it feels like it - but a good start is only part of the journey
I have another jolly today (honestly I do work sometimes) so will be a bit quiet (sighs of relief all round!!). I had a significant work anniversary and the company gave me a voucher for a long weekend, but that didnt really suit so I twisted it into a midweek night away (London) with dinner taking a half day today and a late start tomorrow. will be some entertainment spends but the bulk will be free so that's exciting - should be able to do a walking tour if the weather is not too damp so good all round.
plus got my replacement debit card so have taken my CC and left it out my wallet - should confess its set up on apple pay so still there in emergency but not in my faceI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

my night away with OH was very good. Lovely hotel and a nearby chain restaurant was better value and better quality than expected. was slightly tarnished by a mix up on the parking front so ended up costing £30 half as much as we spent on dinner which is outrageous. we did have a nice walk around leicester square / covent garden - bit cold
However in better news, my DD's old car which I had expected to get £100 scrap for has sold for spares for £325 on ebay (Subject to collection). Now as I paid 1/3 of the car originally and subsidised some of the repairs during uni I am keeping this as the start of my emergency fund. Once in a while its nice to have money fall out the sky into your lap - but it never lasts
Finally - to pay for DD car I have been accepted for a new 0%fee 0%27 month - BT credit card and have transferred the cost of DD car onto that card but she will pay me back so it should be neutral cash flow wise (ie extra in and extra out) -
For reporting purposes I have decided to treat it as my debt - its just part of my debt but one I'm not prioritising this year - and just glad to have been able to to help DD out without incurring any Interest chargesI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
