  • : ( Just wanted to share ... The leaseholder of one of the companies I work for has given us 3 months notice to vacate the premises. Looks like I will probably lose my (favourite) job.
I have 2 jobs (I hear tomorrow whether one is closing) , both in Customer Services. :grouphug: Hoping the High Street recovers soon..

  • Madam Mim, thanks so much, someone's coming from Area Office to talk to our Manager tomorrow. I should know more then. Mind you, none of us were meant to know anything about it because we found out by accident. All worried now though...

WHIPPET1: Sorry to hear your news. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you. So unsettling when that happens.

All checked by the tutor. Been doing it for years, not had a bad experience yet. Does tkae longer so allow yourslef plenty of time.

I have had similar problems with spreadsheet......would like some advice too!

Download the spreadsheet and then save a second copy of it, rather than trying to use the original template. It was created many years ago using free software and hasn't been altered much in all that time, so might show as read only in a different computer programme. I've ried it again myself with no problems.

Hi Frugaldom, thanks for the message. I don't think changing to buying premium bonds would help me. Purchasing other lottery items doesn't lessen my urge to buy those flaming cards. I'm already in the Lottery syndicate at one of my employers' and i'm still attracted to buying scratchcards on impulse. I think however much I put into premium bonds I would still buy the same amount of scratchcards!

I actually know of someone with an addiction to scratchcards so I appreciate how easily people can be sucked into gambling by way of those tempting little, multicoloured pieces of card and scratchy stuff - it's the whole endocrine system kicking in at the scratching to reveal hidden treasures that could wipe out all money problems in one go. Perhaps if you write down the feelings and the reasons for buying them and have something to focus on when going near them at a counter then it might help. The marketing of these things is highly competitive and manipulative - they use psychology to a great extent and know that once they get them a eye level (just like sweets for kids) that they can easily trap unsuspecting buyers. No preaching here, I fully understand te whole seeing, connecting psychologically and then spending without thinking - I smoked for many years and then quit through removing the triggers. :)
