Happy Christmas to everyone, I hope you all enjoy it, I am going to try not to eat too much (but if I do, I have done my jog this morning so its allowed)
TA, your post has just brought back a long forgotten memory, when the children were small I made the mistake of asking them what they wanted for Christmas dinner, anything you want I said, we'll have you'r favourite I said.
Xmas dinner that year was waffles with beans and sausage(tinned).
You would think I would learn from that but no, the same question had us all going on holiday for 5 years running to Butlins (until DH put his foot down)
I really was a pushover lol, whatever they said I did.0 -
I hope you've all enjoyed your day, even with those emotional moments. I was amazed this morning by a visit from someone that I wasn't expecting to see - it has made my day even more special and he bought plenty of gin too (it wasn't Santa :rotfl: ) as well as my other presents. I told him to call in on his way home tomorrow if it was going to be awkward as his sister is very jealous of me. I didn't want to cause trouble for him so I was amazed that he not only came to see us but stayed for a couple of hours. We usually visit him so nobody is any the wiser.....
The HT bought me a lovely Radley tote bag and the cat hasn't had time to puke in this one yet so I'm going to keep it zipped up and well hidden :rotfl: The HT is attached to his xBox now so I've probably had as much communication from him today as I'm going to get. I don't think that I can fit in another meal today either...maybe some crackers and cheese for supperI hope everybody's day has been as good as possible.

Hi Chums a really late post from me but not that long back at youngest DDs from a big family party at eldest DDs our lovely Margaret (DD's ma-in-law) was there bless her and my youngest DD just sat and held her hand and chatted quietly to her as its her first Christmas without he OH of 63 years.Boxing day would have been 64 years for their wedding anniversary. My youngest DD is such a lovely lady and so caring My eldest is as well, but she is more of a practical helper and organises things for people whereas my youngest is the go -to person for a chat ,hug or just will sit and let you talk if you want to or not if you want to both lovely ladies in different ways bles them.
My son-in-law Simon cooked an amazing dinner today and he 'brined' the turkey by steeping the whole bird in a big bucket of water with honey, lemon ,herbs juice of clementines and garlic and it was absolutely gorgeous. no doubt about it for a civil engineer he is a spectacular chef as well.
Tomorrow (well today now ) we are having beef, although there will be a large turkey curry on Thursday I think.
Right I'm off to sleep now , glad everyone seems to have had a good day, and in case I don't get a chance before the New Year may I wish each and everyone of you a healthy and peaceful New Year.
Love 'n'stuff
