Why not play your sport, rather than watching others do it?
Be it Snooker, Golf or team sports?
Watching others, perhaps going around in circles in a car or on a horse, is not really entertainment in my book......

    Have you considered Eurosport Player?
Mainly winter sports, tennis, cycling, lots of snooker, motorsport, BDO darts. Although I understand you have watch through a phon/computer/tablet rather than direct to a Smart TV.

You can cast to a TV with a Chromecast though.

OH has busted knee - used to be a keen sportsman . Works anti social hours and likes to come in and watches sporting channelx to unwind. But it does come dear. Our son has been promoting switching to FreeView to save money but lack of any sporting option is a big disincentive. (Son is not a big sports fan, prefers model railways....)

Have been looking at casting Eurosport .

Is this typical of what? Freeview? Then yes.

There's a clue in the name if you're aware of just how much Sky and BT pay for football, boxing etc.

    Yep, Now TV, monthly pass:
    Kids - £3.99
    Entertainment - £7.99
    Movies - £9.99
    Sports - £33.99 (£12.99 for a week pass and £7.99 for a day pass)

You can get the above cheaper elsewhere if you look around.

Quest shows highlights of English football league matches (not Premier League) and the league cup. Quest HD is channel 114 on my set. They've also had the world darts on for last week or so. Also, red button on BBC1 often has sport, and you can access the I-player through that normally which has highlights. Freesport is sometimes pretty good - often get decent American sport e.g. motor racing and hockey. I think highlights of the Formula E are on freeview this season. Someone told me the races were going to be live on BBC but haven't found them anywhere.

The last live race, Ad Diriyah was live on the BBC Red Button in SD and also on Iplayer. Being replayed on Freesport Saturday 13.00.

Check it out this Saturday, Marrakesh, BBC Red Button replay from 17.25, maybe live on Iplayer?

Also live on BT Sport ESPN 14.00 and Eurosport 2 14.30 but subscription.

    Just received a BBC e-mail:
"Formula E: Marrakesh E-Prix BBC SPORT WEBSITE & APP, RED BUTTON 14:30 SAT 12 JAN"

  • No sporting channels on Freeview? Sounds like heaven to me.
