January 2019 Grocery Challenge

This challenge is really making me think. Have decided instead of going wild next week just because it’s payday and that’s what I would normally do I’m just going to do a top up shop and buy a few bits for stocking up. I still have a full freezer and I’m determined to get through that. Don’t want to undo all the hard work I’ve done this month. Any leftover money from the food budget will go into my holiday spend pot. So there is an incentive there too.0

Does anyone known of anything cheaper for a 1kg weight?

I'm calling it for this week (Friday is reset day!)
Spent £2.19 on bread and milk today at the local Tesc0 because I forgot to nip to ALD1 on my way home.

Totally agree I am the same would normally have not thought about it when I got paid and splashed out on some bits of food I probably did not need but the challenge is making me not buy things I don't need and stick to my list.

Well I took a list to the supermarket and did buy everything I needed from it. The only problem was I also bought a load of other stuff because it was reduced like winter spiced malt loaf (yum) and posh Christmas jam (I have jam at home already). Still, we've got everything we need to survive the weekend and probably until the end of next week if I'm sensible. If. 😁. £27.48 spent.

Have just spent £18 in ALDI , making my total so far this month £54/120:D"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

For dinner I'm having shepherdless pie mix with mash potatoes. May spice it up with a bit of sriracha as will be third day in a row.
OH is going to his parents. They'll feed him there.

Just paid for my Asda Click and Collect, £25.99 and my fruit and veg order £12.50. This brings my total so far this month to £75.12/£200. Only other thing to get tomorrow is some meat at the butchers, which won't come to much and next week should be an even cheaper week. Although I do have a few odd bits to buy in the week that I couldn't get on Asda order...Soy sauce and black pepper, both OOS and they offered me an alternative to their own cheap make....don't think so thanks. I will wait till I pop somewhere else in the week. Also need to pop to Sainsburys in the week as we drink their own label decaf coffee and OH has their decaf Earl grey tea. Once that's stocked up it will last a long while though.DMP 2015 £57,549, now £36,112 (37% paid)
EF £200 Mortgage OP's this year £115
