Does anyone known of anything cheaper for a 1kg weight?
Please, what is this product and why are you buying it? We may then be able to come up with a substitute. (I've never heard of it.)

PS: Did anyone else catch this morning's BBC Breakfast interview with the Head Teacher, who mentioned that she knows of 35 children in her school who are dependent on food banks? I was shocked. I'd been considering whether to do another £50 February challenge this year - my husband is resistant - this may just be the spur I need."Be the type of woman that when you get out of bed in the morning, the devil says 'Oh crap. She's up.'
It ain’t what you do, it’s the way that you do it - that’s what gets results!

I was absolutely [STRIKE]gobsmacked[/STRIKE] amazed last week when my friend announced that she throws anything older that 3 months old out of her freezer. My winter supply of frozen rhubarb (from my garden) huddled into the corner of the freezer muttering to itself in shock!
Thank you for this @CRANKY40 for this hilarious visual. I was laughing for a good few minutes imagining your poor rhubarb cowering in fright and shock in your freezer! :rotfl:Mrs_Cheshire wrote: »Evening all, including the fruit & veg box delivery due tomorrow I'm up to £107.28.
I got a bargain yesterday 1kg gammon joints reduced from £5 to £1.25, they had 4 so I bought them all.
@Mrs Cheshire I was so envious of this bargain I told OH about it! Even he, as a vegetarian, was shocked and a bit envious too. I can't wait to get back to the UK and raid the stores of good YS deals!Congrats Jings on the wedding.
@Pipney Jane you're very welcome. Your post actually reminded me that I should get some when I land back in the States later this month so I can use Woolite again to wash all my woolens and delicates. I've lapsed out of the habit and have been using regular detergent but would like to return to Woolite.
Since Sunday I've racked up 2 more GC NSDs. My stomach and I haven't been getting along very well since Monday so my eating and activity has been out of whack. I'm sipping tea as I type to hopefully calm it down.
€37.30 on Tuesday at Delhaize where I picked up 3x tubs of Greek yoghurt for OH, 3x packs of Activia for me since they were 3 for 2, bananas, strawberries, clementines, tomatoes, butter, soup, bread, ramen, and toilet paper. Maybe something else but I can't find the receipt now.
€6.70 this morning at a beauty store on 2x spray deodorants for OH. He's been without it for a couple of days and has been using one of my travel Dove deodorants. He's been walking around gleefully saying, "I smell like a lady now". :rotfl: When I was paying for the cans this morning I thought, "This will be the last ones we buy here. The rest he'll buy in Scotland." It's good to know we don't have to do or buy one more thing before leaving.
€7.40 at Delhaize this morning for 2 for 1 hummus, a pork chop, and 2 jars of peanut butter for OH.
TOTALS SO FAR:
€77.67 / €350.00
6/12 NSDs
I'm pleased about where we are right now in the grocery budget and we should be good for food until Saturday or Sunday. There are shrimp, scallops and sausage in the freezer while OH has soup he can take for lunch for the next couple of days. We also have lots of leftover takeaway curry to gnaw on as well.0 -
Hoping to make this a third NSD ,not too hard as I’m really not fancying anything food wise at the moment .Still cooking though as other half hasn’t lost his appetite. Things I do fancy are what I shouldn’t be eating so best keep away from the shops !.0

Had to rejig my grocery budget as I realised I haven't allowed for supplements/vitamins in my overall budget. My grocery budget has been reduced by £10 to £190. Still achievable I think.
£50.32/£190 so far.
A NSD today, we don't really need anything so avoiding going anywhere near the shops. Going to look into getting a fruit and veg box delivered weekly to try and help us eat a bit healthier. It's been years since we had one as our last house used to be frequented by tea leavesNow dh is home full-time it feels like the right time to try again. Can anyone recommend a good online company? I tried them all years ago but no idea what they are like these days.
GC 2023 June £72/500 NSDs 1/100 -
Spent my last £3 today on bread, sausages and mash. There was penny’s change. So that’s me now til next fri.0

£33 spent yesterday at the local supermarket, on those expensive items that seem to be what I fancy most just now - i.e. salad! The hospital have told us to eat anything we fancy for the duration of the treatment, not that they explained how to afford it... I'm kind of wishing I fancied gingernuts or something less expensive than out-of-season cherry vine tomatoes, avocados, ready-made quiche, olives and artichoke hearts! (Mind you, a marmite sarnie works OK at 2am...)
Hoping to behave myself at the market tomorrow, as I'll have to visit the butcher's on Saturday to buy a roasting joint for Sunday. So will aim to spend less then £40, which will need to buy fish, cheese, fruit & veg for the week for 4-6 of us, then there's £20 left for the butchers in my "masterplan"...Angie - GC Aug25: £106.61/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0
