Boots Sale

I was in Church Street (Liverpool) branch today and although it's a pretty smallish store, there was still absolutely tonnes of sale stock. Probably 6 aisle sides full, if not more. My husband was amazed they had so much still available after Christmas! I had to explain the whole ethos of the sale to him - that I think people just know to expect further reductions now so don't want to buy it at 50%. This whole spiel of "it's selling so well at 50% that they won't reduce more" is a load of nonsense! Nobody is buying anything!0

At this rate they may as well just leave it out for this Christmas....perhaps that's the new strategy, saves having to merchandise the aisles in Sept :rotfl:Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

I've just been in Manchester Market Street and there are about 6/7 aisles of Xmas stock with no-one buying anything so they are going to have to reduce further to sell.0

We shall await an update Monday/Tuesday when they have the sales figures in for the weekend0

Been wondering if part of the strategy is also to limit people buying stuff in the 50% on Boxing Day / early in the sale, and then returning stock if they got it in the 70% sale.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Could be. It is 35 days since Boxing Day by middle of the week.
But not sure how big an issue that is0 -
Like others I usually stock up on things I don’t want or need in the Boots sale but TOTALLY over it this year. My local store has a ton left but it’s mostly old tat and even if they reduced by 90% I couldn’t care they have left it far too late to reduce and I’m totally out of the bargain hunt/January sale buying frenzy.Stand Up For What You Believe In, Even If It Means Standing Alone0

Reckon 70% will be when the 90% was and the 90% at the end of Feb or early march.0

I've kinda lost the buzz of it all now too, agree it's just far too late. I'm interested to find out what impact the delay will have had, will there be as many people as normal or have people just given up and can't be bothered now. Wondering if this significant delay may backfire on them, after all it's not like it's just a few days!
I personally feel there's bargains to be had all year round and nothing in the Boots sale to get over excited about anymore. Certainly not worth waiting this long for anyway!!0
