I would only give up the weekend job if your dd could take your place 😉

  • Congrats. It sounds like you like the contrast of the two jobs and the time away from the kids too. Perhaps write a list of what the job gives you and weight that up in terms of how you would spend your time and £ if you were no longer there. If you do give up the job - perhaps you still need a few hours to yourself each week...
I do like the contrast and I actually prefer the lower paid job, not feasible to just do that one though as the hourly rate is less than half of NHS one.
I like the list idea and I think if the side hustle wage was just going on something specific, it justifies the time away on a weekend.  I get time to myself on the other 3 days a week I work, so that's not really an issue.
Early next year, I get an increment which will give me a chunky payrise (throwback to the NHS pay deal 3 years ago which created a weird funnel neck)... the extra salary will virtually be the same as side hustle wage (£200-250pm), so maybe I could just carry on until then and drop the weekend work when NHS wage increases to cover it

Glad you are pleased about the result. I would find it strangely reassuring in your shoes too. Nice payrise in a year.
