Uneventful day, big fat Sunday roast and chill day.
Day off tomorrow too and kids in key worker school... have got some CPD to do and a hair appointment booked. Never been so excited about going to the hairdressers!
I've noticed our food bill has crept up, last 3 months it's averaged £800 instead of £600. It's been absorbed because of not paying childcare, but mission this month is to get on top of it. I know the culprits... instead of a weekly shop, we'd started booking them every 5 days to avoid going to the shops for top ups. Expensive way to shop though as less meal planning and running cupboards down. I've made it weekly again from now, so will force us to be more organised and less spendy.

Ours has crept up too. Husband spent £400 in 10 days in April! Shopping at Aldi for at least 3 out of 4 weekly shops is making a difference now.Debt-free Jan 2023 | MFW date Dec 2033. Start date 1st January 2023 £257,509 (23 years left)

I know so many people who say A!di saves them a fortune. I've been there once and liked the food and prices, but don't enjoy physically shopping or getting the food lobbed at me at high speed. I think there must be some tricks to it... i saw several people with compartments that they'd put in their trolley, almost like a sorting system.
Mentioned switching to A!di before lockdown to OH and he said it would be on me as he'd rather pay the extra elsewhere and get it delivered. Might revisit this though and just accept it as part of my weekly chores to go to do a weekly shop.DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

I tend to go about 7:30/8pm in the evening when it's really quiet and they're much better with not flinging things at you as they're not in as much as a hurry(in my one anyway)

I find I can't do a full weeks shop in lIdl or @ldi. It's hit and miss that they will have things. I have accepted our food costs now, but it has taken so long. I am not an inventive cook and it's an area of my life I am happy to pay a bit more for in order to make my life easier 😂 I have bizarrely enjoyed the shift to a weekly shop with limited ability to just pop out to grab the odd thing.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉6
