At least you kept your account and diary.
I think most people have had higher food bills during this period. Like you we need to get back on top of our bill.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I’m not being dismissive of the higher food bills but if changing our food shopping patterns kept us all safe, to my mind we just need to accept that. What really riles me is that if transport costs rise, this is passed onto consumers. However, fuel prices fell significantly over COVID but there was no associated price reduction.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Thanks all. Yes, at least I didn't lose my account and diary.
I keep getting headaches at work, with blurred vision. I'm sure it's down to wearing a mask all the time. It really makes me feel claustrophic and a bit breathless sometimes. I thought I'd get used to it, but if anything it's getting worse as time goes on
I've got a week off planned in August and for the first time in ages, the hospital hasn't cancelled it, so that's a welcome relief!
Renegotiated with our provider for our broadband, line rental and mobiles. Brought the 2 teens mobiles over too from another provider. Before I called, the whole lot (there are 5 SIMS) was costing £90pm and due to go up again. The deal I got was £55pm, £25 of that being the SIMS. I think that's pretty good, so I'm pleased.DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

I know our grocery spending went up and can think of a few reasons for that.We had no meals snacks or drinks outside the home and probably spent more on “treats” for in the home
Items that would have normally been bought when out and about from our personal spends has ended up on the weekly click and collect order, even a new computer mouse !
Sometimes looking in more detail at the grocery budget spends can help explain it8 -
Thanks Debs, good points. All the random little expenditures have been concentrated into our weekly shops, including more alcohol to cope with home schooling
We're going back to weekly shops from this Saturday, so that will force us into meal planning again. We're sticking to Mr A for this as is cheaper than other shop too. Hopefully will see the difference over the next month

I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.
happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy6 -
