Was tempted to buy the hoover currently being touted by MSE (the large fish one)... our old lovely Henry is past it's best and it looks like a good deal. We'll see
My lovely friend who works for Merl!n has said she can get us discounted passes, I'm debating going for it and spending the year going to all the places to the point the kids are bored sick of themShe's sussing out prices and I'll make a decision based on those.

I thought about getting black taps etc but the thought of toothpaste splatter over them all every day would drive me insane! Gone with boring old chrome in the end.

Ours is white suite, tiling, the one painted bit of wall is in a shade of grey which is essentially very neutral and darker than I would have imagined could work in a small rom but looks amazing. Floor tiles are a very dark grey/almost black (we've used the same in the kitchen and eventually will have the same again in the porch area too) and the taps, towel rails are standard chrome. Colour comes from iridescent mosaic tiles used above the bath as a downwards strip rather than round the room - as it's pretty small we didn't want to "belt" the room and make it smaller - and also in the bottom of an alcove and as a splashback immediately above the sink.Towels and mats pick up the colours from the mosaic - currently a sort of aubergine colour for one set and jade green for the other, but turquoise or teal would also work excellently. The bin, loo brush holder are all grey and match into the wall's neutrality. I love the fact that just by changing the towels the room looks completely different!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

But my sister has a fish one and loves it. I tried using hers. Nope, still hated it 🤷 my old Henry has had everything replaced. Plug, hose, foot. Still best at picking stuff up.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉3 -

It's more the condensation that annoys me, if 3 or 4 children have showers back to back, it makes our room humid!EssexHebridean said:Ours is white suite, tiling, the one painted bit of wall is in a shade of grey which is essentially very neutral and darker than I would have imagined could work in a small rom but looks amazing. In other news, I have covid for a third time
I feel pretty ok with it again, just tired. I'm 99% sure I caught it at work - again, dealt with 5 patients with known covid over the last week and loads of others are refusing to wear masks since the rules changed.
I'm fine with another week off work.. seems a bit of a waste of NHS resources, but thems the rules. Puts a lot of pressure on colleagues who'll have to distribute my work amongst them next week.
Also not ideal as i worked Mon-Weds and was probably contagious, I test Sunday and Wednesday evening... clear on Sunday, positive last night. Doh. Probably only a risk to patients who refused to wear a mask, there's an irony there somewhere!DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

Oh Henry is horrible to store, why we now have two, and if I had room on the middle floor to store him I would have three, no more lugging up and down stairs 😂 I trip over him if he doesn't go straight back upstairs, but I swear at him. And he just continues to smile back at me 😂
Poor you with covid again. So far out of six, three have had it and three haven't (as far as we are aware anyway)Debt free Feb 2021 🎉4 -
New big fish hoover has come, it seems very good! Only had a quick try as need to charge all the batteries, but good first impression.
Spent the day catching up on chores and doing some batch cooking, still feel completely fine. Was supposed to be out tonight and tomorrow night, so that'll save me some money!DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)
