Hi All,
I haven't a clue what I'm doing, so thought I'd ask for help!!
I have about 1,200 Tesco paper shares, which I got when I worked for them. I desperately need to sell to avoid having my house reposessed, and came to this site for advice, but reading the article has made me even more confused!!
All I want to do is sell these shares, so which company would be best to do this? Any advice would really be appreciated!0 -

You could give them a call and enquire about their costs, and then ask back here to see what others who buy and sell uk shres think, for a one off sale it will likely be the best option though.Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!

Was thinking of dabbling in buying and selling shares on a regular basis within an ISA. I have an H-L online account and have £7000 to put into it for this years ISA allowance.
Question: Is H-L the best place to conduct regular share dealing within an ISA or are there cheaper alternatives? I rang and they said that if I invested £7K in one share deal in one company it would cost me about £25 + the stamp duty.0 -

I'm new to shares and have recently opened a share dealing account with Halifax.
I chose a company and processed the deal about 9PM at night. What time should the deal usually be carried out by the broker the next day? These particular shares opened quite low at 12.5p, which is why i went for this company, but by the time the deal was processed at 9.30AM the price had risen to 17.5p.
Does this time delay sound normal?0 -

No it's not right at all, your order should have been executed immediately on the open. It's quite pitiful that these numpty brokers can remain in service. I'd pursue the matter, initially politely on the telephone, and then in writing if not satisfied.Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!

I should say that I am not sure moving £7k in and out of shares a few times a week is likely to be a productive use of it to be honest unless you are the best trader on the planet, and certainly an ISA is not the place for this.Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!
