Hi, I have stocks in an american company bought while working for them over here, how can i sell them?, every where i look it leads me back to america, have i got to phone the USA to sort this out, the company in mention is CATERPILAR.
I have the certificate myself here but no one will touch it because its in USA.
Any help in this matter would be appreciated.
thanks steve0 -
iii will deal foreign shares . Ask them to take a certificate and register it to an account for you, then you can sell

Halifax's next Deal Time offer is on 16/06/2010 at 15:00 to 16:30 where dealing commission will reduce to just £6.00! Please note commission is the usual £11.95 at all other times.
They dont often offer deals on selling as well as buying so might be useful for anyone with a Halifax account looking to sell batches of shares (or trade) tomorrow or this month even0 -

Hi, I am looking to get involved in share dealing and am wondering where would provide me with the lowest commission rate for execution only dealing. I am a new buyer and am looking to start small so I can gain some experience before risking larger sums. Any help much appreciated.0

as above really - i know what specific shares i want, research has been done but what is the best/ most cost effective way of buying?
I've looked at hargreaves landown and iii but still none the wiser as to how to buy specific shares as opposed to generic funds...???Negative equity of £100k. including the mortgage0 -
iii deals for no cost if you schedule it. After June that will cost 1.50
Share.com does 2.50 deals 4 times a day (buy only, more to sell)
x-o does dealing for 5.95 when you like
Each share has a 3 or 4 letter code which should be fairly standard with any broker. VOD BARC HSBA BP. HL.

Bullbearings do a stock game where you can decide which shares to buy. Seems reasonable to run through that beforehand0 -
Im not sure how useful this is to anyone, it might just be a reminder to myself :laugh:Halifax wrote:The next Deal Time offer is on 18/06/2010 at 12:00 to 13:30 where dealing commission will reduce to just £2.00! Please note commission is the usual £11.95 at all other times.0
