    after all:

    You can use Bold;

    Bold Italic;

    Bold Italic Undderline

    Change the colour

    to make emphasis on what you say.

  • I'm interested in buying a Land Rover Defender and discovered this vehicle on eBay, item number: 401753162043

    All the correspondence between him and I is identical to what other members have reported in this post.

    I have reported this individual to Action Fraud, Crimestoppers, eBay, PayPal, UShip, and the Police. None of them are interested in apprehending this person until he commits a crime. I had a police officer view this post and he said there was nothing the Police can do, unless I paid David John Rose £5000 and became a victim of the scam. What happened to proactive policing and crime prevention, concerning cyber-crime, purported by senior police officers and IT experts?

    Looks a bargain to me, it sold 12 months ago for £10750, using the exact same photos.;)

  • Hi!
    Thanks for this post. I had this excact email conversation with a guy calling himself Derek Chadwick. The post disappeared again quickly from ebay so I guess ebay is already aware of it. Just so you know to be aware of Derek Chadwick as well.
  • He has got me too..... was meant to take delivery of a ford transit on Monday and then it was today..... obviously nothing and money paid..... even flown in to the country to pick it up!!!!

    This bloke must be some sort of criminal mastermind to do this. A veritable Moriarty of the car selling world.
  • Derek Chadwick Scam: The way it works is they hack into a legitimate garage's ebay account with what looks like a great deal. When you respond, the get back to you in what looks like an ebay format but they have added their message on top. They propose that they ship the vehicle to you and that you pay Paypal but with payment only being made to the scam seller when you confirm the purchase and they say they will give you 5 days in which to make up your mind. Their email gives a link to 'Pay pal Live Chat' which is presumably something that THEY operate (I don't think that there is a legitimate Paypal chat set up) and I suppose it is through this that they will take all of your money. They did not get any money out of me but they have enough of my details to follow through with some identity theft scams which I will have to be on the look out for forevermore! (if it looks too good to be true, it probably is, sadly). Really sorry to hear about the people who got drawn in and I would urge all of the members of the forum to be sympathetic; it's a well constructed scam.
