Pretty... but falls willfully short of the 200BHP ish requirement by some 80BHP.
Its a sheep in wolfs clothing.
Mine's the other way round... which model do you have?PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

Likewise
Not an Alfa (my last Alfa of interest was a 156 2.5 v6 Veloce) but similar to you relative to fast but looks normal cars -
2018 Cooper S - modded to 250BHP. Looks like a MINI One.
2016 Mercedes A45 AMG - 380BHP. Looks like an A180CDI "AMG Line".
Also had a 260BHP Volvo S40 T5 in burgundy which was fun but looked like something your grandad would drive and a VW Caddy van with a 2.8i VR6 engine that went like stink and sounded like thunder.0 -

So in reality you have no actual experience of the car I have suggested where as I have.
I doubt the OP will be disappointed if she/he test drives one.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

Ah right, i didnt realise you were just trying to be a !!!!.
The O/P wants a car around 200BHP. That one has 120BHP.
Do the math.
Sorry to hear you think 120BHP makes your car a "wolf".0 -

I wasn't trying to be anything. There are versions within the range with the OP's specified BHP. However the example I had suggested would probably satisfy the OP in terms of performance.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. Not in a new Giulietta there isnt, according to Alfas website - and it was to new Alfas on Alfas website you linked to?
And are you saying 120BHP makes it a "wolf" or is there some insinuation that the (female) O/P should be satisfied with 120BHP?0 -

Lol, there's no insinuation about anything. I'm merely suggesting a marque that the OP maynot of considered. Unlike most people that slate Alfa Romeo, I actually have experience (good at that) of them.
There's a 1.4 multiair version that produces 170bhp. The OP maybe pleasantly surprised if she test drives one.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

You're suggesting a marque thats most powerful example available new is 120BHP?
BTW I was merely pointing out that one of the O/P's pre-requisites was something around 200BHP. Its barely quicker than her 1.2 litre Polo....
Also, yes, worth considering Alfa IF the option in question meets the requirements. The one you linked to didnt.
I've no issues with Alfa. I've had 3 and loved them all. I certainly wouldnt slate the brand per se. They seem to have got their upper end models sorted out, lets hope that filters down over time to the lower end cars too. It would be great to see great small Alfas again rather than average but pretty ones.
You seem to have found exception in my "sheep in wolfs clothing" comment, however that was specifically at the weedy example that looks like it means business that you linked to. Very pretty to look out the window at - for spirited driving perhaps not so much....

She might be - if she wants to opt for a used example as they dont make them new any more (you seem to be avoiding admitting that). In fact they havent made the 170BHP variant for almost 3 years.....
I think there are better examples of fast hatchbacks to chose from and in that arena Alfa (sadly these days) is very much an also ran.
Also, the O/P has told us they dont need a big amount of practicality, so i'm not sure a albeit pretty but dynamically quite average 5 door hatchback is going to hit the mark.0 -

Sadly the 170BHP variant seems to be only available as an auto. Has the O/P said they wanted an auto?
I suppose theres the 150BHP variant in "super" trim level is there, but still way short of their 200BHP and not exactly "fun" either - a 5 door 150BHP 1.4 litre hatchback. Yay.
Far better and more interesting and more fun cars available for the O/Ps budget, as pitched already by various people, but if thats your dream car...
Speaking of - what BHP is your "wolf in sheeps clothing" that you were telling us you own?0
