I added the prepaid Mastercard to Paypal account 1, sent a money request from Paypal account 2, paid the money request from Paypal account 1 using the Mastercard.

    Hope that makes sense!

That's odd, that's how I always do it too and never pay a fee.

Not sure if it's because Paypal account 1 is a Premier type account? Either that or I did something wrong but I'm not sure what, I didn't notice any different types of money requests or payment options. I'll keep having a look around Paypal's options etc just in case I missed something.

The initial decline happened within a few minutes but once I'd corrected the expiry date I requested the top again and that's still processing, it's been well over an hour now.

Just tried the 2 Paypal accounts method - the money has transferred but with a fee of £0.54. I thought transferring funds between 2 Paypal accounts was free? May be I did something wrong?

After over 3 hours, the top up has been applied (£10.00), hoorah!

Now, what to do with my remaining 11 prepaid Mastercards  I would prefer Amazon at the moment as I have various purchases to make but I don't want to cause an issue with my Amazon account, maybe I'm worrying too much!

Glad that worked. I would be lost without a working Amazon account.

So would I, I've ordered many items from them and for years totally paid for by my giftcard balance funded from Swagbucks and various survey panels.

    Step 2 - 7 SB

Notes: I got a second 1000 SB Shop Recognition Bonus yesterday - good but very odd:)

......................15 days ago I added a mastercard to my payment options, somehow I managed to put the year as 2021 not 2020. So payment declined that day, but no £ got deducted. Tried a top-up again today, declined again (twice) but nothing deducted and I realised my error and edited the card in payment options to put it right. Tried again and the top up has been accepted. I do hope this will work next time.

Thank you thisone for posting. I've just tried the same system and it worked for me. I didn't need to wait any length of time. As soon as I had the declined email, I went back to Amazon and changed the date to show the correct year and I then had the email to say it had credited the full £10 to my account.

It's strange how different people's experiences are with the Mastercards on Amazon, bearing in mind also the comments under the reward where it worked for a couple of other people.

I tried another Mastercard using the same system but the initial decline took approx 4.5 hours. When I saw the decline email the following day, I had to go through some kind authentication process with a one time password because I'd added a device or similar (I hadn't). When I accessed my account, I changed the expiry date but it then asked me to re-enter the card number and to "confirm" the card, thinking this might also mean the £1.00 authorisation fee, I gave up and deleted the card. It just doesn't seem to be working well for me :(

Looks like I'll have to use the Paypal method for my remaining Mastercards but with the charge that some others don't seem to get but I can't see how to avoid this.

I reckon it's a return to Amazon vouchers for me in future lol!
