That when you go food shopping you by the own brand makes as much as you can, as i know some people dont like say tesco own toothpaste or toilet roll? Or Aldi's cheapest spagetti hoops? You get my drift.
Iam up for it, Think it would be intresteing to see how much we would save if we were shopping the way we noramly do
Also once you been shopping add all the own brands up and put them on here so we know how much you spent/saved.
Let me know.

My Tesco trolley is full of blue and hite stripes that there's always some snooty customer who comments. I was in for a trolley full of stuff, about £10 quids worth to last me a week (final week before payday, can you tell?!) and the woman in front of me pointed it out to her husband. She was over £170 on garbage - frozen pizzas, about 7 bottles of full sugar Coke, Oven Chips by the kilo.......................and the cheek to snort out at my own-brand beans, tomatoes, washing powder, etc!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0

Bet she is in a lot more debt than you though!
Sounds like a good challenge but i only buy Tesco own anyway, hope you get some others who want to do itNow a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
I do this with most stuff now anyway. I was always very 'brandist' before, but now begrudge actually buying named things! :PDebt - [STRIKE]£13,423[/STRIKE] £12,626

I try and swop around things quite a bit, maybe we could offer alternatives to people struggling to brand swop?
I am having problems replacing:
Ribena
Marmite
Walkers crisps
If anyone has any good suggestions I will happily try them out!
Thanks!Debt Free - done

Asda have 52 packets of Walkers Crisps for £3 at the mo! (2 big multi packs) so maybe we could do a combination of own brands and offers?0 -
hmmm... I'd be up for this! I have my budget which is £15.00 per week on food and i could easliy do it if I used own brand stuff, I'm sure! My supermarket is Morrisons.0

Would you try asda/tesco beans and when cooking them add some pepper AND a little butter and i think they taste just like heinz.
