Just avoid credit cards. I've chopped mine up. I experienced quite a bit of poor customer service and then as a disorganised person a fair few late payment charges ( that hits obviously totally my fault).
I don't see the benefit of credit cards, even if managed well. Just use a debit card. Save up some money for emergencies then you won't have to deal with these companies.0 -
The online credit card application process is far too easy, imo. Yes I have used it, but every time it amazes me that they do not ask for copies of my payslips, bank account statements or proof of outgoings. I could tell them anything and they would not check (apart from who my employer is, apparently). This makes it very easy to commit fraud and, I would also argue, invites fraud.
OP, the application process is ridiculously informal given the amounts of credit that can be acquired, but this does not mean you should treat it as though it is not serious. The application is still a legal document and you have lied for financial gain. You don't seem to understand that...how come? Seems like common sense to me.0 -

If only there was some kind of mechanism that would automatically pay either the full amount, or at least the minimum amount of your credit card bill each month so you didn't get late payment fees.
Someone should definitely invent that.0 -

It was originally a MBNA Everyday Amex card but since MBNA have scrapped Amex branded cards, they sent me a new Visa branded Everyday card instead - whilst keeping the same perks. Though not sure if their Everyday Visa card is available to new applicants.0
