MBNA is the worst experience ever

One (1) thing is clear, this has nothing to do with the fact the OP was technically fraudulent when she applied for the card.
She needs to act quickly to try and limit the damage she has caused to herself.0 -

I'm pretty sure my current one is fee free, although I tend to stick with my Halifax Clarity. I remember it softened the blow slightly when they withdrew my frequent flyer points cards.
MBNA used to offer cards branded as Nuba that offered no foreign exchange fees. I have one and it still does. They dropped the Nuba banding earlier this year and reissued cards with MBNA branding.0 -
When in was in my early 20's, I once told Capital Bank I worked at British Telecom on a loan application. They offered me it in principle, then withdrew it and marked a CIFAS entry on my Experian saying I had commited fraud. (telling un-truths on a credit application or something to that affect) This was because the bank statement they asked for showed deposits from Adecco Alfred Marks employment agency and not British Telecom. I learned the hard way to be very careful when completing applications in future. The implications can last years.0

So rather than call and ask for help with the application, you proceeded to lie instead.
Now your upset with MBNA for restricting your account.
Your concern should not be if they do the balance transfer in time, it should, have you risked messing your finances up completely with a cifas marker.
I’m sorry but I do not in the slightest feel sorry for you here. Ignorance is not an excuse.0 -
Well I do feel slightly sorry for the OP - it is easy to think that little white lies on an application are not exactly the crime of the century.
Fact is though things have changed over the last few years. These days it is harder to get away with anything - even little discrepancies are picked up and the costs can be severe.0 -

Especially given the reaction and me-too condemnations on here!
How could MBNA have such a stupid system - one that prevents people answering questions properly?0 -

Well lets be honest its the very least they could do...isn't it..?:pVery funny but not very helpful for the OP.
It wasn't even that funny to be honest ……0 -
