I switched out some of the funds but not others. Ironically, this was one of the funds I didnt switch out and to be honest, I dont see any reason to do so even now (if you could or when the 28 day period is over).

I focused on the funds that are likely to merge but I did also mention I was keeping it under review. I was more surprised at how little there was in NS funds overall. When I did a reverse portfolio there wasnt as many people invested in new star funds on my books as I thought there would be and where they were, the amounts were small. Often because they were picked as niche/specialist funds, just like this one.

Is that a way of saying NS are generally crap? But every now and again they have a decent fund? :rotfl:

Yeh I am keeping an eye on my NS fund, rose 8% on Tuesday :D

Lokolo, more likely to mean that they had some interesting niche funds like Heart of Africa, AKA lets invest in Nigeria so we can go up and down with the oil price.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. It was up again today. HL are being a bunch of lamers, they always buy on 10th apart from my NS fund. It was ordered to buy on the 9th and still haven't bought it yet!

New Star's African fund closure costs investors 30%
    according to CityWire.

Does Jamie still get a performance fee? Like Bank bonuses?

Oh well. Nice idea. Probably the wrong fund house to try it though.

Anybody stay with this fund to the bitter end?

Looks like an 18p/unit payout - was original cost 50p?

    74% loss I'm surprised I didn't invest. That's my usual performance.

Duet purchased the assets of Heart of Africa and has said that they will be using them to start a new Africa Opportunities fund.
