renting out a rtb council house

I hope the council have thought of this and you cant let out the property. Frankly with £22k in the bank I have no idea why you were even in social housing.
Go on Enfield councils (North London) website regarding rtb. It states quite clearly that you can rent it out straight away. Surrounding boroughs much the same. Might not be what you think it should be, but those are the rules. You might not like the policy but that's the way it is. You can rent it out straight away if you want to. Whether it's right or wrong is a separate debate.
Sorry to be the harbinger of ill news.0 -

I'm aware that the rules vary; which is why I said 'I hope'.0 -
For all we know, the £23K might be a redundancy payment, and the OP might have to be moving away for a new job. Very quick to judge on here sometimes.
I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

Funny you didn't tell the op that. Instead all people seem to want to air is personal opinion, rather than facts.
Excuse me?
1: neither you nor the OP dictate what advice I choose to give or not give. I think the OP has displayed an disgusting arrogance, so why would I voluntarily provide beneficial information.
2: you aren't providing facts either. these schemes vary so there's no guarantee that the OP can let it out. Just that in your small area of the country it's possible.0 -

1: and? Got redundancy money, now has money and should move out
2: and? Got a new job, sell, paying back a percentage of the discount
these circumstances are irrelevant. Why do you think these rules exist??0 -

That's why I told op to ask the authority, not on here. In case he gets a prickly reply lol
You didn't tell him the rules varied because you wanted to post personal opinion instead.0 -

Indeed. I did not wish to assist this person and therefore didn't tell him that the rules varied.
You seem to think you can dictate what I write, why is that?0 -
