Wanted, mp3 for spotify

I aim to buy my wife an mp3 player, and will transfer from my Spotify premium account via cable? from my chromebook. It must have a clip and possibly a screen, although that's not essential. I'm of the opinion that 1000 plus items will be added. Cost really dosent matter, but would like to keep under £40.
Maybe you can recommend something please?.

Don't think that is possible or no simple way?
I think you have to have the Spotify App ON the device
Music is not transferable for copyright reasons
Google search:
Generic mp3 players aren't supported, it needs to be an internet connected device with the ability to run a Spotify application

Bloody hell, I darent tell her that. She has an ipod shuffle with music on that I installed from iTunes years ago, but I finished with iTunes five or so yrs ago. I'm sure a read that I could transfer Spotify to the shuffle, but would have to remove everything from it first and she wouldn't want that, hence me prepared to buy a second device. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. You will have to put 'Spotify App' on phone and download tracks via wifi
you dont even need a SIM card in phone..........just use it as a spotify player for downloaded content
Spotify content only plays thru the App0 -
PS If you have an ancient Android phone with little memory or sd card...........forget about it0

I will go and look during evening and tell you the models. Presumably they have Internet on them although they are from my pre Internet days, if they have, I will connect via WiFi, install the Spotify app, transfer music and that should do it as you can listen to it off line. I did on aircraft. Stay tuned. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Just remember if you don’t go online with Spotify at least once every 30 days, any tracks you have downloaded for offline listening are automatically removed from your device.0

I didn't know that, so will make a calendar note to do just that, does that mean I have to download something or just go online which they are able to see? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
