There could have been a perfectly lovely middle-class family buy the property, then decide to sell it a month later - perhaps to a HA. What would you do then? Sue the former neighbours? In this over-crowded island of ours very few of us have the luxury of choosing our neighbours - especially on crowded new-build estates.0

When I last looked, GM was the only person smart enough to have given the answer this poster deserved.RedFraggle wrote: »Who are you and what have you done with G_M?
Personally, I wouldn't risk soiling my keyboard with a direct reply to such utter wind-up nonsense.0 -

Giving accurate advice which makes people sad is not the point of this forum. It is about rainbows and sunshine.
Also I have to assume GMs post is sarcastic. It must be...
If you read the post you have replied to again - she states it is 'negative and unhelpful comments' - therefore not accurate advice (as that would be helpful whether positive or negative to the OP's case). I think she was referring to posts (of which I have come across a few times) that are fairly pointless or people making snide comments - a bit like this one of yours.0 -
The hypocrisy from the majority of you is actually pretty hilarious.
First of all I never once stated that I believe myself to be above anyone in a housing association home. While I lived in one and no longer do, a lot of my family still do!
It was from my own personal experiences and from what some of my family still experience, also what others in the area have said that formed my true representation of what could be. As hard as it is to hear it's the fact and unless you've had the experiences then gtfo.
I also never said that I didn't expect there to be any, we chose the house because it wasn't directly next door! Sorry to have upset some of the most basic among you with a simple question, it clearly hit home.
Please tell me how being middle class is also a bad thing, so what if your neighbour bought her ex ha home and decided to isolate themselves. Your judgement of them is as bad as the judgement you believe they have been directing at you, pretty insecure but I take your wishes of bad fortune and throw them back at you a million times you simple knave!0 -
Apart from anything else, their contract probably said that they could only rely on statements made in the contract and official answers to enquiries, not any other sales puff. The developer couldn't guarantee who would be the neighbours two years in the future anyway.
Of course, but if you do have something in writing via your solicitor it holds for example in our case the builder had to make the road up to highway standard which as a big £££ deal for a long (past 5 large houses) driveway.
I am guessing the answer is no.0 -

Sorry why do you get to dictate what people write?0 -

I also never said that I didn't expect there to be any, we chose the house because it wasn't directly next door! Sorry to have upset some of the most basic among you with a simple question, it clearly hit home. - basic? Please don't. You are not helping yourself.
Please tell me how being middle class is also a bad thing - it's not. You're not middle class. You're 'nouveux riche' , so what if your neighbour bought her ex ha home and decided to isolate themselves. You realise that this attitude will cause you more harm than good in life0
