So I'll be sending this email to their data protection email:
"Hello
I am currently being harrased by VCS for the PCN stated in the subject line.
I am writing this email to inform you that I," her name", have absolutely no ties to this vehicle. I was not the driver, I have never been the keeper, I don't even hold a licence for a motorbike.
I suggest that you inform your claimant team team to get in touch with the registered keeper of this vehicle, and take up proceedings with them.
Also, your portal has been coming up with nothing but errors, which is why it has taken so long to get in touch. I have had to resort to chasing your privacy notice down, which also shows "page not found" on your website.
Kind regards0 -
It's definitely VCS, it says so on the portal.
The privacy policy on the website gives "page not found error", also have you got a link for coupon_mad? I've searched forum and Google and can't find it.
I've found a pdf of VCS policy online, this has. A data protection email listed. So is this what J should contact them through?
ok , so mention VCS as part of this MPC sc@m in your posts, because its either EXCEL or VCS, in your case its VCS , it has to be one or the other whereas the MPC is their online portal to appeal or pay either type of pcn (two companies, one owner, MPC is to muddy the waters)
I posted the VCS DPO details in the GDPR 2018 fightback thread by Coupon-mad, hence why you should have done the search using the highlighted words above or similar (like I just did)
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5849784/june-2018-start-of-the-new-ppc-and-dvla-fightback-gdpr-related
start near the end to find the details
and dont tell me you are not aware of who she is, she wrote and maintains the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread, third thread down from the top of this forum (she is our "messiah" and that thread is her "bible" , lol)
I would use the email I found and posted in that fightback thread
and I would send the letter but would spell check it for your errors and add to it that it is a DATA RECTIFICATION NOTICE under the GDPR2018 law
you can read about those notices in that same fightback thread
ie:- use the GDPR to try to sort out this mess0 -
Thanks again for the help.
I couldn't find the thread as I copied "coupon_mad" from your comment, which returned no results.
Also I did post earlier on that it was VCS.
I managed to find the contact details on a pdf anyway and I sent the response I posted earlier, I'll send a follow up email adding "DATA RECTIFICATION NOTICE under the GDPR2018 law", I'll add this to the letter I'm sending too.
Hopefully this sorts it!0 -
I doubt that it will sort it but hopefully its all ammunition in the war between tenant and parking company
it may well stop them harassing the person who is not liable, but it may not and that could be the basis for a harassment case, hence why the non-combatant is trying to stop the harassment
VCS are unlikely to drop this, see this article about them
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4135638/Desperate-Scousewives-s-Elissa-Corrigan-beats-firm-VCS.html
I didnt spell her Coupon-mad name exactly right, but if I had done you would have found tens of thousands of her posts , whereas I was telling you to find one specific thread that she wrote several months ago, using specific keywords is aimed at reducing the number of "hits" and her name is not one of those methods due to the fact that she is a prolific poster
I would have thought that you would know who I meant, due to her mighty presence on here
she wrote about the MPC sc@m in the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread
this all started due to somebody finding the MPC toliet paper and contacting them, which is what they want, whereas nothing should have been done until the official paperwork came in the post through the letterbox
this thread is a lesson in how NOT to go about this sc@m where tenants are captive victims0 -
Also, the sign does say a permit must be clearly displayed.
As mentioned the signs can very well be completly irrelevant, what matters is the lease.
If the lease says you can park in your space, and there are signs there saying a permit must be displayed, those signs are meaningless.
In that case you will already have a right to park/use that space and this right can not then be subsequently given to a third party ( the parkig company)
The lease is absolutly criticalFrom the Plain Language Commission:
"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"0
