Hello.
I was wondering if I could run something past you. I have seen questions here before and the advice is sound.
I caught a bus today to my mum and dads. You know when someone looks at you a few seconds longer than is normal you notice it? Well that is what happened as I was waiting to get on. The driver was doing that. I asked the fare - it was £2.15 and gave him £3. He printed the ticket and no change was given to me so I sat down.
At another stop, someone got on and he gave her change. When this women got off, he looked in his mirror at me and said she had paid £1.70 to go 2 stops. I says to him, how come she gets change and I dont.
He said he was going to give me change but I walked away. Now this is not true. I said I am litterally sitting beside you, what are you on about.
So at the traffic lights I stand up and he puts 5p in his tray and said that is my change 'cause I have him £2.20. I told him it was £3 and to keep it.
To cut a short bus journey and a story shorter, he then tried to give me 85p and I told him to keep it as he had the chance to give me the change earlier. That I would be calling his head offices.
So when I did, she took the details and said he would be interviewd. I told her I want £15 as this is the price I put on having an argument on a public bus. He caused this. He is a thief and if he wants to steal, then steal off the employer not the passenger.
She told me there is no way I will be getting any money off them. She seems to know this before they have investigated.
My question after all that is can I take them to court? I want £15. It's not about the £15, it's about being messed with. Nobody messes with me.
Thanks a lot for any advice.

My word that took a few attempts to try and understand!
So i'm guessing this is an "Exact fare only - no change" service, just like pay and display carparks?
He offered you the change, albeit it after the event and you turned it down.
You're not entitled to £15 compensation. If you take this to court the judge will be in hysterics.0 -

You're not going to court over 80p are you?
That's your loss and all you'll get.0 -
Hi, why is it difficult to understand? Sorry if it was.
No it was a bus that gives change, it is one of they subsidised ones that goes from the shopping centre on a loop.
He offered me the change at the end of the journey. After we had been yelling at one another. There was about 10 passengers on the bus and I was mortified.
I don't think it would reach as far as court but could I?0 -
Why did you not just ask for the change when you paid instead of sitting down? Would have saved a lot of strife. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

Because quite a few of your sentences make no sense.
So why didn't you ask for the 85p change before you went and sat down?
Sorry, it takes two to have an argument. If you was also yelling, why are you mortified?
You can take anything you like to court. However I can see you coming out of this a lot lighter as can't see the judge awarding you costs for such a frivolous claim.0 -
I think it's you who don't understand. If the bus service runs an exact fare policy then you wouldn't be entitled to a refund anyway. Sounds to me like he only offered the refund to get you off the bus so he could continue his journey and not inconvenience the other passengers further.
As far as the £15 is concerned, you're having a laugh :rotfl:0 -
