An excellent amount!!
Normally we would get a summer bonus, but with things as they are, I don't think anyone is expecting one.....shame really because I think they are normally quite generous.
Ah well, something to look forward to for the future, maybe! (by which time I can spend it all on nice, fun things, rather than trying to choose which debt I throw it at - that would make a nice change!!)Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hi guys, i've not been around for a while, Great news on the bonus WH, 2 more cards down and 1 closed all together and sub £20k! Wow! You have been busy! :T and its nearly pay day (next Tuesday for me!) hurrah!
i'm with you on the food shopping Ive increased my budget to £400 and I've still gone over by about £50 this month. My shopping budget includes all toiletries too so I think £80 - £100 per week is reasonable for us as I have 3 hungry men to feed and me!
This month I planned the months meals - instead of weekly and bought everything I needed in 1 fell swoop. This gave me a bit more flexibility and I knew I coud rustle up a tea even when it seemed we had nothing in. Ive just topped up with fresh stuff as we need it. But ive had to go today and spent another £80 as we had lenty of teas but no other food! milk bread cereal etc
We had a great weekend away at my nephews wedding, its my others nephews 21st today and the 2nd wedding reception tomorrow so the new clothes we (kids!) needed, plus IL's 50th wedding aniversary, gifts, mothers day and OH car bill £679!!!!! has put us £1000 over this month!
I couldn't help it, I just wanted to have some fun! But now i'm back on the straight and narrow! We've got £811 extra income due in April (God bless MSing!) plus I have the car loaded for a carboot tomorrow so I hope to cover the shortfall with this (even tho' it was originally to pay my MBNA card off:rolleyes:
If I just write this off and don't try and 'borrow' from Aprils cash/food budgets I should be back on track for May and should just have enough saved for the holiday money when its due end May. After that i can relax a little and all extra cash can go back to paying off the debts
Anyway, one day I will learn to keep my posts short and sweet - but not this day lol! cgxCC Debt: Jan 10 £21,660 now £8,170 hurrah!0 -

Just to let you know I checked out switching my motgage from a fixed rate to a tracker and it was as I thought - SCARY! - Our house has lost £30k in value so we would ned a 95% mortgage! I'm just thankful we aren't in negative equity.
It wasn't as much as i'd thought to buy out of the mortgage £6000 plus £1200 to buy onto a new rate so £7200 outlay - which can't be put on the mortgage anymore. The reduced tracker would save £300 per month so with 2 years left to go on the fixed rate would save £7200 so just covering the outlay and if and when the rates go up we will be worse of so at least ive satisfied my curiosity but its not for us at this moment in time.
