Working Hard Debt Diary - Here goes

Just sorting through my bills for the month and paying my Sept nursery bill with my childcare voucher. Since my youngest starts school in Jan I thought I best check with the providers (Busy Bee) how many vouchers I've got left before the end of the year and ID when to stop them - I didn't want to have vouchers unspent particularly since Dec will be a shorter month.

Well as it happens I've managed to use my vouchers a month in hand therefore my last deduction from salary will be in October and I will still have a voucher to pay my November bill. Dec's will have to be paid in cash but I've got surplus in vouchers with the nursery and its a shorter month.

This means that in November I will have an extra £200 to put into the loan fund with maybe a conservative £100 for December. :T :T

The loan fund is looking good. I've updated my sig (it does so motivate me) to show whats in the fund against whats pending (earnings or income that I know is coming currently £600 sal, £300 childcare vouchers, £100 backdated salary rise) and whats left to find. £226 to find - no problem.:D

Now with my continued ebaying and my new venture into matched betting I should be able to come up with this amount in no time.

Got my new bank account forms for my matched bettings funds so once that is opened I can transfer some money into it and get moving on it.

Feeling in control which is what we all want to be.....

Thanks for your comments. I think I'm going to go with the usual monthly amount of £175 and as Hypno says take the extra payment as a bonus but I must note when I get it so that it can be fired at the CC's.

Good idea! Sorry, if I hadn't been so tired I'd have realized that £190 was no doubt the 4 weeks x £175 divided by 12!!!:D

  • No probs Verbatim - Tired is an everyday state of mind isn't it!!?

Wow £3k saved for the wedding, since Christmas, is fantastic. Its gets quite addictive this DFW thing. I did think the other day i don't know what I'll do when I'm DF. Slay the mortgage probably....

Everyday we're all a little nearer being where we want to be:D

  • I think that being in control of your finances is so important and it makes you think positively about every aspect of the future.

I'm focusing on our mortgage now because our fixed rate is ending in Jan so its now looming. However know that from November 2009 I'll be able to overpay it considerably each month is a nice thought.

Getting DF is about having the motivation to make it happen and its whatever works for each of us.

I've just been rereading some of the MB threads and frankly at present its scaring me!! I understand the principles but its the completly new territory and its a bit scary. Thankfully I can take any action until my new bank account is open and I've moved my stake accross. Then I will take the first steps.

My target is to make up the loan fund to the amount required to pay if off asap. I'm not sure I will get it paid off before the end of the year since I would need to find more to clear it. Monthly repayments are £287 of which £257 goes off the balance.

I keep telling myself that ebay selling was new once................it will be fine......:D :D

You will get that loan paid off by the end of the year....don't be defeatist!! You are doing really really well so far!!

  • I wasn't being defeatist, or wasn't meaning to sound like I was.

What I meant was that I won't get it paid off earlier since I would have to make a hell of a lot of extra bunce from MB to make up for the pending funds (earnings etc which will be coming in over the next few months).

Being ultra positive - any extra that comes in over the debt fund can..........thinking.........thinking.......be paid off the debt :rotfl:
