Wow thanks all of you for all your help, support and advice. I definately wouldn't have been here without you guys. I've still got a way to go to be completely DF as opposed to technically DF so I'll carry on posting. Plus CG and I are embarking on Operation Fat @rse! :rotfl:
As we move into another month the challenge for us to remain within our budgets. Some of them still feel tight that or we are relaxing.
Anyway projects going forward:- Operation Fat @rse! :rotfl:- Definately need to lose weight and get fit so this is under control. I started this when my exam was finished and I feel like I've lost a couple of pounds already. However we are on full steam ahead on this.
- Operation Wardrobe Blitz - Linked in with above I am shocked to realise how many clothes that I've just that just don't fit me. These are either bougth when I weighed less, bought in an optamistic OFA period, or just bougth thoughlessly. Now the way i figure is that I've two choices:
- Seperate out everything that doesn't fit and as I lose weight (positive thinking) slowly bring them back into circulation. This is clearly an gentle approach.
- Take out everything that doesn't fit now and get rid of it - either selling via Ebay or donating to charity shops. This feels quite a drastic approach but is one that feels quite radical. Thinking about it when I trotted the hound yesterday I did think that I could seperate the money from this stuff to use it to buy upto date replacements. TBH is quite scary how much stuff I've in there that doesn't fit me, I think trousers number double figures countng winter/summer ones
:o:o.
- All views/coments on the choice welcome
- Operation Job Hunt - I've been thinking about this for a while and I definately need to move this forward. I work in the public sector and we're clearly likely to face lots of challenges over the next few years. However I come from the private sector therefore I can go back. So to job hunt seriously my CV needs to be brought upto date (in hand with friends ready to constructively critise) and a couple of recruitment agents already alerted to my changed status.

Re OFA and OWB......I blitzed my wardrobe earlier this year, keeping only things that I liked, and could fit into - with just a couple of exceptions, being dresses that were almost new and I knew that I could realistically fit into if I lost just a little weight, as opposed to "when will I EVER be that thin again" stuff.....
It took me about three attempts to get through it - each time I was a little more ruthless/realistic/less emotional, but eventually I was able to just hold onto the few things that "work" and around which I can build my new capsule wardrobe as I lose weight!!
It is quite liberating!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Thanks H - I'm definately heading towards the get rid approach.....if I do it that way it will probably take me many many thrawl throughs to get it done. Liking the sound of a capsule wardrobe - not sure I can recall exactly what one is but feeling like get a mag subsrcription (with T points) so I'm sure I'll get lots of inspriation.Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0

:DLOVE the new signature!:j when will you lose the 'technically' bit?
This post made me laugh - we have a lot in common you know WH, My wardrobe blitz also revealed clothes in 3 different sizes
I have put the smallest ones away, and the almost ones to the back of my wardrobe for inspiration. I am no fashionista so my clothes tend to be work - last for years and years (and years!) casual - jeans & Ts - ive thrown the doggy Ts away e-bayed the best and the OK ones are in the car boot pile and dressy - not very many in this category!
As clothes get too big (optimistic:p) thanks to the F't@rse challenge I will donate or sell and get shut of them.
With regards to that latest challenge ive been to a wedding reception and a 16th party this weekend so not got off to a cracking start, but its all go now! Went to the gym yesterday and did 579 cals (its high tech! ) so that must have paid for a couple of lagers!
We are also both in the public sector, my employer is running a voluntary exit scheme and I am sorely tempted to take it. It would pay enough to clear our debts (which feels like cheating) with some left over. I am sending for my estimate -watch this space!:)
