  • Just hit the Spam button by accident - too much cider - sorry L how could I do that to you.

School shoes - what can I say but ouch to x 4!! MInd you its not just the school shoes but everything else as well. I've been trawling through the various shoe deposits in the house trying to ID what fits, what doesn't, what can be binned what can be passed on etc. End result is more kit needed me thinks ie walking boots.

Mind you H I will be picking your brains on ski kit fairly soon. DD is going on a school ski trip next year and I've no idea of what she'll need. I figure if I think ahead I might be able to get ebay bits and bobs.

Your day our sounds FAB CG. Mine would like that. As I said we did Warwick C last week and DS's loved it for the battling and DD loved if for the horse - everyone happy - what a change.

Definately ready for going back to school

  • Sounds like a very sensible idea I like that, and the colours thing will be good since I've two DS's in the wings.

  • I was so delighted to hear on the radio tonight about personal debt being reduced in the UK - Whopee - I can count £27k of that as my/OH's effort !! Big big grin.

I also like the article on the radio today about teaching kids the value of money and pocket money etc etc - I was talking at the radio in the car (which is not a good look) and I was considering phoning in. Anyway off my soapbox, jobs to do tonight:

MBing - just about done tonight
Pay a couple of start of term bills (eck this is when the savings pot for the kids activities feels the strain)
Bring the books upto date - my wonderful receipt spike needs clearing
Plan jobs for tomorrow which is the last day before the kids are back at school including DS's hair cuts, search for kit etc etc
Oh and at some point chill

    Nothing too onerous then!

  • Just rejigged the figures with the new childcare payment arrangements via childcare vouchers. Over estimating the childcare costs (to be on the safe side) and underestimating the tax savings (until first month when I will know exactly) I work out a saving of about £83 pm. This takes into account my childcre budget was about £40pm over for the year as well - poor budgeting much to my shame but the right way at least.

So I am really pleased with that since £83 is a nice chunk of debt each month gone!! Result - still back to paying bills :(
