Working Hard Debt Diary - Here goes

I've tried Asda for uniform before and its not been a sucess so I am with you on that. DD isn't too hard on her uniform and since I can't pass it on I don't mind buying stuff that a little cheaper. For DS's though I tend to use M&S for trousers, shorts etc since I pass them from DS1 to DS2 and I know that they will last!
USe closing off some MBing which is slowly cranking up the totols again. I'm nearly upto £250 in the pot which will be great. I like to have quite a chunky pot for when I use the Free bets up. I think when I get my balance up to £300 I'll take a £100 off the pay off the debt.
Ebay stuff are going well but don't finish until Monday. I'd like to get some more bits listed this weekend whilst the insertion free's are off. Hopefully I can but I've a load of other bits to do as well.Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -
I agree about the uniform M&S and BHS are a similar quality and you can order both thu' quidco and get some cash back
Ive had a shock tonight, just checking balances and the £750 I paid to the wrong card (grrr) has just cost me £98 in interest  I knew I would be charged but no idea how much 'cos this is my food/petrol card and I normally pay off in full each month and others are all 0% eek! ive got to find that money somewhere and quick!!! cgxCC Debt: Jan 10 £21,660 now £8,170 hurrah!0 -

:eek:Blimey that is a huge amount of interest....makes you reaslise how much these Cc's cost. I dread to think how much I've paid in interest over the years:o
Just ordered DD's extra uniform online clothes budget severelly in the red now. £50 pm does not strectch very far at all at present. Given that OH and I don't buy anything and I get quite a few handmedowns for DS1, which pass to DS2 I don't understand where it all goes!!
Mind you I've just played around with my spreadsheet (sadly everything to do with our finances in on there from holiday spending, childcare, spending diary etc) and looked at how much spare we'll have when we are DF. Thinking about joining a MF challenge but I need to understand a little more of how it works.
Just cleared a MB and lost at the bookies (which is great and much easier in terms of having not to turn over the cash). Off to polish off a glass of red, medicinal for my sore throatand watch trashy TV whilst OH celebrates his cricket win !!

I think you ought to have two glasses of wine - just to make sure you recover completely......Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

I did have a couple just to be on the safe side H....feeling a little tired now perhaps I should have another??
Anyway a load of ebay stuff sold adding £40 to the coffers. Although this will go straight of the B/Card to pay off the extra uniform shop I had to do for DD. I was thinking about this, as we do, and in theory I could let the B/card take the balance until next payday when it would get paid from the clothes budget (this months budget went on shoes). However the B/card balance wouldn't be cleared which is a dangerous game and one I don't really want to start. So as soon as I have the money it will be winging its way to B/card and the clothes budget can remain in place for next month when I am sure it will get used up!!
Need to revise my signature to show us being DF in Decemeber rather than November. Only a month I know but I want to be realistic about when we'll be DF. Then I need to get my head about the Mortgage challenge (can't even recall the name at present) to see what will keep me occupied next year!Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -

Wow L look at your totals they are really coming down - :T:T
Its very exciting and very nervy getting close to the end. Fingers crossed if we stay within budget this month - ie don't overspend we should be well into the £6k's next month which is course edging closer to the £5k milestone. When we started this our lower debts () were £5k....eck this is very scary territory.
Anyway I've relisted the ebay stuff which didn't sell and might if I get the motivation list a couple more bits tonight .....I said might...since the MSing seems to be very quiet (or me being fussy).
Looking forward to the kids being back at school this week and getting back into a routine (manic though it is at times)..Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -
Hi WH, hope you're having a good BH wkend
We've had a lovely day at a civil war re-enactment in a local park! It is very good fun actually and with 2 blood lusting boys its a great family day out. homemade pizza for tea went down a storm and a couple of bottles of lager mean i'm now chillaxin on the sofa!
Ive applied for another 0% (with no BT free cos im a new bank customer)so hope to transfer that balance before I get another hefty interest bill.
Still got to get school shoes 8 days before mine go back - not that i'm counting lol!
figures are still looking great WH cgxCC Debt: Jan 10 £21,660 now £8,170 hurrah!0 -
