Need a broker

  • No lender out there that does not go threw these fraud checks ?
  • I am not saying it is impossible but a scatter gun approach with lenders won't work. You know it is on there and the lender will see it. You need to find out exactly what is being reported and the broker needs to call the lenders before submitting anything to say exactly what the scenario is

  • All lenders will do a fraud check. It is whether there is a lender willing to go with it.

But you have a proven track record of lying to a financial institution. Pretty much game over.

    So do I forget.about getting a mortgage ?

Why should a lender provide you with a mortgage ?

    Why did you lie ?

Would you lend to someone who in the past had lied on an application for a financial product and now wants a mortgage ?

Get all three versions of your credit file and your hunter file and ask friends and relatives for a broker recommendation.

I had a case last year where the client was on CIFAS/National hunter. His was actually down to a dodgy broker who thought they would try to be clever and declare someone who was self employed as employed and just use payslips. Client knew no different and just accepted what he was told.

I could not get a "normal" lender to accept him. I even struggled to find a specialist lender to accept him. In the end I did find a lender but rates were around 5%.

His situation was unfortunate as he was guided by a "professional" that he thought he could trust. Yours was a lie and I would be surprised if you could find a lender to accept you until it drops off.
