Morning folks and thanks RR for starting us off.
I am worn out already! 3 DGDs to sort out for school, 2 youngest had to have tight plaits in for today's rehearsal of panto straight from school this afternoon. So much more time consuming than the pony tails they usually have. Anyway, against all the odds, they were ready and waiting for DD's bf coming to do the school run - DD on early shift.
Today, when I summon up the energy to get off my arris, I must start the Friday Tidy. But I will be broken off mid morning when youngest SIL is popping in for a coffee and a natter before going over the tops from here for a hospital appointment. The country roads are so much quieter than the main road from town which is stop, start, all the way and takes over twice as long.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) as always for the poorlies, sad, worried or lonely. Take care xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one, especially SO, such a difficult time for you.
TA good to see you posting every day.
We actually have a yellow ball in the sky, not saying its name in case it decides to go away!! Still have a very stiff breeze though.
OH has the dreaded headache back........I think its one of the exercises the OT gave him it involves him putting his head back, not good when you have spondylosis in your neck!! He is back on paracetamol. I do have Oromorph but will not give it to him unless the pain ramps up into the spikes again.
I went over to see my neighbour for an hour yesterday afternoon, she has to go next week to be measured for her temporary prosthesis. She had sepsis and was very lucky to still be alive, had her husband not insisted on calling the out of hours Dr. she could well have died. She is not happy with one of the carers, I told her to ring the boss of the company and complain. They are also charging for time they are not there, booked for half an hour they are out the door in 15 minutes.
Have the last runner to fuse today, I have to be careful the bits do not move as I fuse them. I have to use a tea towel over the gold to stop it from shrivelling up under the iron. Hopefully I will also get them stitched down.
Usual friday fish and chips tonight, fresh fruit for dessert.0 -

Well my son got knocked out in the quarter finals of Masterchef. He took it very well and when you think that thousands applied to get to the last 16 was pretty good. Not much going on here because this is week three of my chemo cycle so pretty shattered.0

Morning all, I am mid Friday Tidy. I've cleaned tge bathroom and kitchen except for scrubbage of floors, which I'll do in a minute. The sun is shining (!) so there's a line of washing dancing on the wind, lovely.Even if it doesn't dry completely, it will be fresh. Like SO, I don't have a drier, at least I do but it is in storage, nowhere to put it in this small house.
SO it must be very difficult when you feel that your world is shrinking.
Poppy, a dear friend found week 3 incredibly tiring but she is out the other side now, hope you might be soon.
I am making myself a hat so we should get warmer weather just in the way that it doesn't rain when you remember your umbrella.
Sitting room still looks as if Armageddon has arrived but at least it is clean underneath.
Might go and feed the ducks later.
Sending positive thoughts to all those who are unwell, sad or worried.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning ,
Had a nice visit from my friend yesterday afternoon, and managed to finish the tidying before she came ( When DH walked in last night he said 'oh we've got our house back')It'll probably revert again as the DGC are back tonight but its nice while it lastsI forgot that Morries were delivering though, half an hour before friend came but managed to get it all put away apart from the scones we had with our cuppa
.She brought me a pile of magazines too.
I was going to go out for the morning, probably to Bury market, but my tum was a bit upset before bedtime and I feel tired so am having a quiet day in,though I did go for a long walk with Ly1a earlier as it was nice and clear-clouding over now though .We haven't done long walks since her back leg was playing up earlier in the year so it'll be interesting to see how she is. It was obvious she was out of her comfort zone though, taking a different route instead of straight to the park. She kept stopping ,and turning her head as though she could hear a pack of wolves following us,she's such a big wuss
I've managed to sort 3 dates for Xmas meet ups with various friends, and got the DGC nativity dates in the diary too- I didnt want anything to clash with those, and also my next 3 online supermarket shops are partially done to get the dates ( and extra points !) I wanted. It's easier for me atm while DH is so busy at work, and I've got a midweek delivery pass for the year - if I only do 7 shops I've broken even against getting a taxi home. Silver oldie, sorry DH was confused when shopping,it might be worth trying online now the sm are getting busier for Xmas, perhaps try again after. I have to say I have been impressed with Morris0ns delivery.
Poppy, well done to your son :T
Speky enjoy your weekend with your folks
Not sure what to do for tea yet,we wont starve that's for sure.Hope you all have a good day xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
SO, some shops do Purple Tuesday, no music and a quieter environment.
CHS struggles in the shops, you have my sympathy.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
Cap in hand & lots of grovelling
Lethargy set in - for no apparent reason
Thank you for thinking of me redruby & LaineyT - am ashamed to admit that I have no excuse for my lackadaisical approach to postingI just wish I could say it was because I was being a demon declutterer but unfortunately it wouldn’t be true
So here goes & apologies up front if I forget anyone
redruby, thanks for starting us off & congrats to your DD & her young man - are you a hat person or will it be a fascinator
Hester, sorry to hear that CHS is not doing so well. Your tenant is beginning to sound like a bit of a nightmare  Last thing you need right now.
tru, what nice neighboursperhaps a bottle of wine or box of chocolates or something home baked?
nmlc, I love newly decorated areas of the house - especially if someone else has done the decorating
silver-oldie, so sorry to hear about DH. Any chance of someone sitting with DH while you go to sm - say once a month so that you don’t completely lose another life thing.
Gers, sorry your DM is being ‘awkward’ - you must have the patience of a saintHope your colleague is on the mend.
-taff, hope you enjoy meeting up with your friend. Mmmm, trampy as in ‘homeless’ or the other one :rotfl: - really sorry I couldn’t resist & I mean no harm
Organza_Lace, men huh - I bet just once in a very long while they surprise you with something nice or am I just being optimistic/naive
LaineyT, good luck with the riding lesson. Sounds like you have a good physio
WeeMidgie, what an active & full social lifeYour new place sounds like ‘home’ now but only because you have made the effort
Nelski, paperwork - ugh. Keeping my fingers crossed that you get as much December work as you want
Speky, seems you have made absolutely the correct decision to moveYou are putting in the effort & reaping the rewards
I was looking forward to buying a hat :rotfl: but even though nothing has come of it, I hope you have increased your confidence & confirmed that you can make good choices - after all she did phone you
Hope you have an enjoyable weekend visit with the family
TA, I am very pleased that you are posting again
Csarina, that yellow thing is here too
Bozwood, hope Bgas turn up quickly - now is definitely not the time to be having boiler problems
poppy, you must be so proud :T Have no experience of what you are going through, but am sending gentle hugs
AoD, Friday Tidy - sounds like it should be a rap song. Am looking forward to the warmer weather
Holly, hope you are coping & I am sending hugs your way.
Again, apologies to those I have missed.
I have a whole raft of tasks to do, but DH has just made me a coffee so I will drink that & then get up off my ‘arris & get on with it :rotfl:
See you tomorrow

Plans changed already!
I asked DM why her computer room was so cold, turns out one of the big bay windows had a broken fitting and had been that way for ages. It’s not a ‘sitting’ room so I don’t use it much. There was a howling gale coming through the entire 5ft high edge of the window.
Fortune was on my side - I did a web search, found a company and the engineer was already working in the West End so he arrived with 40 minutes. He replaced two ‘keepers’ (?) and all is sorted. Excellent service.
I texted my friend in hospital- she’s already had her MRI and could possibly be going home today. That would be brilliant if it happens, so I’ll not schelp over (or under) the river until I hear from her.
SO - it’s so sad to read of your struggles. I really wish I could offer more than just words of sympathy. Can Social Services give you respite time?
Poppy - even those who were knocked out last night were terrific. No shame in being in the final 16. Congratulations to him, you must be so proud.
Right...may now go shopping. Fingers crossed for that.0
