Holiday Event organization- tailor made tour

Hi everyone. Having an idea to register as a self employed and make tailor made tours for sole travellers. Basically I want to organize self made tours to different countries and be a tour leader whilst on holiday. Do I need to to register with abtol or any another ideas will be highly appreciated. Thanks

It looks as though you will be offering package holidays if you include accommodation and other tourist services, even if you do not include the flights too and from the destination. You do not need to join any trade association, although without accreditation, why would someone give you their hard-earned money but you do need to provide financial protection for the money you collect and you certainly need to take out public liability insurance as if your customer has an accident which is the fault of any of your suppliers you could be held liable to pay compensation.

You really need to take solid advice before jumping into this game, it is not as simple as you might wish

Is that a serious question?? If you've got the travel agent/tour op experience to be able to do this you wouldn't be asking random strangers on the internet for advice! You would already know the answer.

Yes, it's a serious question and altough I don't have any experience with travel op or travel agent I already had a groups of people traveling with me and want to make it legally in the future and register it.

Are you looking for a career as a tour guide rather than a travel agent? If you have knowledge of an area or its history maybe this could be a future, possibly part-time, career.

Maybe he is serious, oaks from acorns etc. I suggest you talk to someone like the Travel Trust Association in Woking who advise lots of startups but please be aware, running any sort of travel business is not a walk in the park!
