Your'e better off buying a new XR on gumtree, save £400-500 over the 24 months.
I've only dealt with CPW twice in my life, the first time was in 2014 when I just arrived the UK. The stuff at CPW store performed at least 6 credit searches on my file, because every single provider has rejected me. At that time I had no idea what does a credit search mean to me, I thought he was just doing his job and trying to help me. The result, of course I couldn't get any deal at all. I end up pay full amount and buying my phone online.
This is the 2nd time I had something to do with CPW group, and again bad experience. They can't even tell me why I failed their check, not to mention how can I pass it the next time. Since they did the credit check before their internal security check, it left a mark on my file and I couldn't get a deal elsewhere, this is frustrating for sure.
Enough ranting, life needs to move on. I'll try to haggle with my existing provider, and hopefully they will give me a good deal, and also willing to lend to me in despite of the CPW hard search record on my credit file.0 -
It's only cheap if you want to commit yourself to a 24 month contract (and having to deal with Vodafone).
Other than that you're better off buying the phone up-front and getting your own SIM with flexibility on choosing the provider etc
I've checked network coverage, my home and work area are perfectly covered by all UK providers, so I shouldn't have coverage issue with Vodafone. I personally have not had any experience with Vodafone, but except the end of contract talk and haggle, I rarely contact my provider. Therefore it doesn't bother me if they have a good or bad customer service, as long as I don't have problem with the network coverage.0 -
