1st time seller. Advice on listing?

I was just about to start a new thread but I'll post what I was going to say here any way:Hi all.
I've tried to incorporate this question into my previous thread but it's been overlooked or maybe people don't want to post about this issue.
So I'm selling my Dyson DC21 on Ebay it's upto around £70 at the moment ending Sunday evening. I've been offered £200 cash for it through an Ebay seller with feedback of 18 all positive. They've bought mainly childrens clothes since being registered in May 2007 but all the feedback is from the last two weeks. They've bought and sold mainly childs clothes and toys with one sale of a mitre saw for over £100.
As the DC21 in the completed listings has sold for as little as £206 + £10 postage I'm tempted by this offer.
So what are my options in regards of accepting this offer? Is it wise? Is it morale? How does Ebay/Ebayers look on it?
Thanks

Thanks for the help. It sold for £220. Waaaaaahhhhhheeeeyyyyy.
However I've had no reply from the seller so far. I sent him the invoice on Monday and asked him to confirm his address. I've sent him a message again tonight so I'll have to wait a little longer I think?
The odd thing is that the ebayer that asked about buying cash sold a mitre saw that was the last thing my seller bought. They also both live in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire. I think I may have a problem here.

You may be wise to phone them. Go to "advanced search" (top of each page). Click on "Find contact information" you need the user-id and item number and you will then receive buyers tel number by email.
Ring them and see what they say.
If they haven't paid after 7 days get back on here to ask about unpaid item reminders to reclaim your fees, hopefully it won't come to that..0 -

Just one slight concern..the buyer does not need to email you to confirm his address as any address he gives you via email is immaterial if he uses paypal. When taking paypal the ONLY address to use is the confirmed address as shown on the payment in your paypal account.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I'd previously read in another thread about only using the Paypal address and I understand it could be critical if something goes wrong at a later point.
I was asking the seller to confirm the correct address because I thought that it was a good mechanism to get them to respond to me. If they were genuine I would expect they would respond. If they were scammers I would expect them to respond. If they were messers then maybe not.
Thanks. And still no response.0 -
Your buyer has 7 days to pay and sometimes if they opt to send a cheque they may not contact you at all and just post the cheque. As for confirmed address I will clarify...basically confirmed is a paypal status and actually has nothing to do with the buyer 'confirming' his address to you and it is quite unusual to email and ask for that especially should it turn out that they tell you an address which does not show on paypal.
In the first instance assuming you have sent an invoice sit back and leave it for a few days. I don't even usually send a reminder until at least day 6 even on an expensive item. On or around day 5 send the buyer a polite email saying that you note they haven't contacted you regarding payment and you are emailing to see if they require any further assistance in order to pay. At some point on or around day 7 if they still haven't responded contact them again and ask that payment be made as soon as possible. If a day or so after that you still have hear dnothing open an NPB as that usually gets their attention.
At the moment though just wait...if the buyer pays by paypal then that's when you need to see the address as being confirmed by paypal when you look at the payment in your paypal account.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks. I shall now sit back until Saturday and then follow the procedure that you mentioned. I got impatient and wanted the money especially as I'm skint at the moment and wanted to buy a present for my mum with delivery for the 27th. Oh well I'll probably have to wait until the day before and go to the High Street.
Thanks

The buyer contacted me today saying:
"[FONT=arial,sans-serif]Hi sorry for delay, im havin probs with my paypal, so im gonna use my brothers im just waiting for him to sort it out for me, again sorry for the delay and many thanks"
What are the implications of paying through a different account?
Thanks

The problem is that to be covered you must send it to the confirmed address, so explain to your buyer that you are happy for him to use a different paypal address as long as the address on that account is confirmed and that your buyer understands the item will be shipped there.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. So it'a almost as if I have a contract with the owner of the paypal account rather than the winning bidder? If the address shows on the paypal account then does that mean its confirmed?
Thanks
