You can't revise a listing that has bids on it - that includes the title.
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j

I thought the same when I was just about to say but I don't have any bids so I'll change. It seems I may be too late for that now.

Maybe I should add a returns policy if it's faulty and also open the box and take a photo of the vacuum cleaner and it's accessories?

    Thanks

It's up to £67 already I see, so I think I'd be inclined to leave it alone now as you still have 3 days + to go. best of luck!!

I can relax with it now then and leave it to run its course. Well apart from now looking for couriers.

    Thanks

  • Hi again.

Someone with feedback of 18 has offered me £200 cash which I'm very tempted with. However the message before this one asked for a BIN price to which I responded as there have already been bids I will leave the auction to run it's course.

So what is the Ebay / moral standpoint on this?

    What would you do?

I've got a lot of things that I want to put on Ebay and I'm under the impression that paypal only accepts £400 a month on a personal account. This vac will use up over half that hence my increased temptation for the cash!?!?

    Thanks

Do you only have a personal account with paypal or do you mean a premier account? I ask because only basic paypal payments can be accepted on a basic account so to sell on ebay you need to upgrade to a premier account before your auction ends.

On a basic account you can receive 2 payments a year from a card, so if this was the only thing you were planning on selling it might be worth leaving it as it is for the time being and only upgrade when the third payment arrives, but just be warned that the first time a payment is made that requires the upgrade the buyer gets a message to say that there payment needs to be accepted, and that does worry some buyers as it can look a little dodgy if you don't understand the system.

  • I only have the basic bog standard account. I'll have to look into upgrading then. The cash offer looks even more tempting! What would you do? I'd be happy with £200 cash which I assumes means being collected, and the vac for £200 is a bargain for the seller, it'll also give me some time to set up my paypal account.

    Thanks

It's very easy to upgrade your paypal account (my partner did it at the weekend as she has just started selling a few bits and bobs). It will take you all of 2 minutes on line, you just have to feed in a linked bank account or debit card - they sent 2 small sums (pence only) to your account and you email back what the amounts were which confirm it's your account - and that's that, you've got a paypal premier account!

I haven't got online banking setup so it's difficult to get to th bank to see the balance. I'll try to upgrade now and see how it goes.

    Thanks

  • I've managed to remember my paypal password! I was classed as the most basic account, unverified. I've now upgraded to a premier account still unverified but it just upgraded no questions asked or deposits to be reported.

I don't have bank funding set up though apparently I'll have to wait 3-5 days for the small deposit to be deposited. I don't know what features this will give me? I've just read up on them on Paypal although I don't think they make much difference as a seller?

I've already been asked to post to Spain which I declined now someone with feedback of 45 is asking me to post to Moscow? What would your responses be?

How do you deal with cash offers?

    Thanks

Don't get involved with any foreign bankers drafts, offers to pay direct into bank account or any other form of payment apart from what you advertise - cash is OK if the buyer is coming to collect in person but I wouldn't touch it otherwise. You may want to accept cheques (from UK buyers only), but you'll need to stipulate these will have to clear before you send goods. Having your Paypal account upgraded means your status will be raised to VERIFIED at your address which will give confidence to any potential buyer - also you can feed your account from bank if you're buying heavily, or pull money out of Paypal a/c into your bank account if you have surplus funds there.
