New build- mice in the attic

Recently bought and moved into a newbuild
(12th oct) last few nights I've heard noises in the attic. Tonight I heard again, so decided to investigate. On opening the trap door I can see mouse droppings
Builder is still onsite, building other houses. Is this an issue for them to sort out? Or am I liable?
I haven't been near the attic from I moved in and so there is nothing stored in it. Don't have a ladder had to use a chair and stand on the bannister.
😷 Can't believe this. The challenges of being a homeowner 😧

This isn't an "absolute nightmare". It's a few mice in the attic. That's all.
It's cold outside, there's lots of work going on and their habitats are being disturbed - of course they're going to find somewhere warm and quiet.0 -

Exactly.
You can buy humane traps easily enough that keep them alive and then release them a distance away from the new estate.0 -
It's not a nightmare - it's part and parcel of owning a property.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

If this is the biggest problem with your newbuild then you're laughing.0

A total nightmare would be not having mice in the attic, because the rats ate them all.0

Was your house built on their nest? Our house and garden was once a field for grazing sheep. The sheep still escape from their new field and come to our garden.
Mice are not a big deal. Don't leave anything they can eat and they will go away. Wonder if the builders left crumbs and food for them.0
