@Toonie, I'm sad for you that you've had so many setbacks, but you thoroughly deserve a pat on the back for taking charge & prepping to cope with just this sort of situation! Glad your new employer seems so reasonable.

Based on my local store, anytime between the last week in January and first in March. And in recent years two weeks after advertised in their weekly "mag."

We're taking things quite easy. DP has got quite mild symptoms, mine are mostly mild though I feel worse today than any other day so after doing a quick bit of admin on my computer I am going to sit in front of the TV and watch The Hobbit. I know I have some popping corn in the cupboard so may even make some popcorn to have as a snack. And we've got an easy tea tonight, pie and chips.

Sorry to hear the covid test results. Shows how unreliable the lateral flow test is. Good job DP also did a PCR test.

It's not that LFTs are unreliable - it's more likely the fact that the viral load of COVID varies changes to how long you have been infected and was probably too low to register on a LFT but was high enough to register on a PCR test.

Yes, I saw some graphs recently that suggested it takes about two days for infection to show up on a PCR test but three days on a LFT. At least the isolation period has dropped from 14 days originally down to 7.

We had the water off this morning & in the few minutes while the vans parked,I got the bathtub full enough to flush the loo... Having filled the kettle, first. All back on for the time being.
