@Toonie, I'm sad for you that you've had so many setbacks, but you thoroughly deserve a pat on the back for taking charge & prepping to cope with just this sort of situation! Glad your new employer seems so reasonable.Angie - GC Aug25: £106.61/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)9

We're taking things quite easy. DP has got quite mild symptoms, mine are mostly mild though I feel worse today than any other day so after doing a quick bit of admin on my computer I am going to sit in front of the TV and watch The Hobbit. I know I have some popping corn in the cupboard so may even make some popcorn to have as a snack. And we've got an easy tea tonight, pie and chips.Grocery budget in 2023 £2279.18/£2700Grocery budget in 2022 £2304.76/£2400Grocery budget in 2021 £2107.86/£2200Grocery budget in 2020 £2193.02/£2160Saving for Christmas 2023 #15 £ 90/ £3658

Toonie said:I've been glad of my preps the last few days. Got a positive Lateral Flow Test this week (DP was not positive). Went to get a PCR (and DP had one too as he drove me to the testing site). We're both positive! I was supposed to be starting a new job. Thankfully new employers have been understanding, so I'll start when out of isolation.

Yes, I saw some graphs recently that suggested it takes about two days for infection to show up on a PCR test but three days on a LFT. At least the isolation period has dropped from 14 days originally down to 7.One life - your life - live it!7

We had the water off this morning & in the few minutes while the vans parked,I got the bathtub full enough to flush the loo... Having filled the kettle, first. All back on for the time being.8

jcriyadh said:lovely to see you again @elaine241, we also have a food share project at Goytre Village Hall which I pop over to weekly. These are such great initiatives and take away a lot of the stigma around food banks, etc as people from many different circumstances use it. The volunteers who run these are amazing. 😃

How did it start up Elaine241? Would love to get that sort of initiative going in my village and area.9
