FWIW we've been using the Oxo Good Grips manual tin opener on an almost-daily basis for the last three years and it's still good as new. It's become so indispensible since I got arthritis in my wristicles that there's now a spare one of 'em in the "better get a spare one while we can" cupboard. This is the one I'm on about: they also do a similar one called the soft-grip, about which I know nothing. We're all doomed12

Si_Clist said:E again TA - just been reading reliable reports from different parts of the country of up to ten minutes on hold to get through on 999 calls, six hour waits for an ambulance, and horrendous waits just for triage at A&E departments, never mind for treatment. Is this being reported on the televison, in the newspapers and so on or is it all kept under the radar?Stay safe, folks.
I've seen reports regarding this on BBC local (London) and national news, especially regarding the waits for an ambulance. DP has lots of friends in the London Ambulance Service and they're all saying the same thing, as A&Es are overrun with people who can't get to see their GP, there is no room for ambulances to hand over patients and so they are sometimes waiting in queues up to 10 just to hand over to A&E staff (let alone then cleaning their ambulance before heading back out). Even if you have the armed forces come into help drive ambulances, there is just no way they can hand over their patients and get back out on the road quickly (and of course now the added joy of ambulances having to hunt down diesel to fill up with).

I was talking to some parents last week, whose 56hr old baby was having surgery. They had been transferred from Lancaster to Liverpool, because Manchester Children's hospital had a 8-10 hour wait for an ambulance transfer. I was also talking to a neonatal consultant who last month had a very prem baby needing to be transferred to our critical care unit but no ambulance.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

DD has informed me that Iceland have stopped deliveries in her area due to lack of diesel.
Best be aware if you are depending upon a delivery.

I'm trying to get most of my Christmas shopping done before they sell out. If not, I can relax anyway when I've got what I need.
Taking advantage of sales too.14
