LameWolf said:@Suffolksue my apologies, I missed your sad news as I only get here sporadically these days. My sincere condolences.@Nargleblast at all my previous homes I wouldn't have dared have milk delivered, as it wouldn't have stayed on the doorstep long enough for me to fetch it in. Even when I lived in a village, there was someone (or probably several someones) who swiped milk from doorsteps on a regular basis.
Milk thieves.
Picture set up on lawn but they had been stealing neighbours' milk like this.

Years ago it used to be Bluetits pecking through the cardboard tops of the milk bottles to get to the cream that settled on top and in cold weather the milk would freeze and the tops would have popped off leaving a small 'milkberg' standing up from the bottle underneath them.12

Hugs Sue. It's been so hard for you. You are amazing.
I'm not saying this to be holier than thou as we have cow's milk in plastic supermarket containers but I'm not sure that any cow's milk is particularly environmentally friendly. Forced calving, getting rid of the male calfs - not to mention the methane - all contribute.
On a different note, Having just visited my brother who has a terminally ill but still quite young wife, I think a good bit of prepping is to ensure that wills are made and up to date and have a power of attorney in place. No matter how young, we can all be affected by illness or accidents.I wanna be in the room where it happens16 -

VJsmum, you're absolutely right.
Get those wills made. You are not "tempting fate", after all, you're going to die anyway one day so practicalities like wills, POA etc are best done when you're physically and mentally up to it. Once done, you can crack on with enjoying life. One life - your life - live it!16 -
