@maryb I have a polystyrene type milk carrier/holder thing that insulates the milk and keeps it cool enough until I bring it in at 6.30am (he often delivers between 11pm and 1am).February wins: Theatre tickets13

That's a shame @greenbee I'm fortunate in that my lid is always back on properly.
We also have the organic milk. Tbh, I mistakenly ordered it the first time, not realising, but then husband loved it so much he begged me not to switch to the non organic stuff. I've spoilt him lol
I had another too good to go box last week, and in that I had 4 packs of tenderstem broccoli, and one head of broccoli, though must admit I didn't take notice of the country of origin. Was another good box though. More variety this time, included some bread rolls, cauliflower cheese, bbq ribs, egg salad baguette, triple but sandwich, big pack of ham, a kids chicken meal. Most has been devoured, and a few bits in the freezer.February wins: Theatre tickets10 -
GQ, the frame was a 2m high over-engineered wooden structure built by the 2nd xh, covered in 1/2" sports netting that doubled as a bean frame in the summer! It had panels of mesh that hooked onto the ends to make it pigeon-proof, but removed to allow inside access to the beans. Completely OTT but very useful!
The 1st xh was an engineer & would most likely have welded something together out of angle iron & chicken wire - the plot would have looked like an allotment out of Mad Max 😂2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

@VJsmum - my veg box list is showing broccoli as being UK-sourced this week. Some other stuff is Spain/Italy/Holland (oddly, carrots, onions and beetroot - peppers and aubergines I can understand).
Shortage of HGV drivers still in the news, which will impact local and international supply chains.14 -
We have a milkman and we run on skimmed milk but it comes in returnable glass bottles so it's zero waste as we can also recycle the foil lids here in our general recycling every other week. I also get local eggs from the milkman once a week and the egg cartons are returned and used again. We have a veg box once a week and the box it comes in is returned and reused and any packaging is fully compostable along with the trimmings and then the compost is used on the allotment to feed the soil for next years crops.7

Our milk is delivered by a milkman too. He's been round at 12 o clock a lot of nights and the latest I think was 3 am...I much prefer having it delivered even if it costs a little bit more. I haven't run out of it, I don't have to nip to the shops for it [and then spend another 20 quid wandering the aisles for other things I don't need but can't resist] and it's helping local people for me to do that.I feel I have to point out I am not decrying anyone who doesn't, just in case someone decides to take offence at the potential of me implying it's the 'best' way, those are my reasons, eveyone can do as they like.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi16

@-taff, I would love to use our milkman, but living on my own & not drinking tea or coffee, I'm doing well if I use a pint a month!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I will definitely go back to using the milkman in the autumn but it's easier at the moment to buy milk as and when. I see they sell those insulated containers so thanks for the tipIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!11
