I've asked before Mar but can't you do some growing upwards?.There are lots of ideas online for getting veg and herbs growing in small spaces. I've grown the tumbler tomatoes and herbs in both large pots but also in hanging baskets, troughs etc.

I think there was an assumption that built in emojis weren’t needed as most people can access a huge number from their devices - and they keep growing!  There are some built in if you enlarge the reply window. If you’re using a windows PC, press the windows key and full stop at the same time to bring up the full emoji keyboard.

You can use html for colour, but that’s really too much like hard work... however, you can have a kale emoji 🥬 (even if it does look like a lettuce)

That's really helpful Greenbee. At the moment laptop is needing to be plugged in otherwise it goes to a dark screen. It needs a visit to the family tech. Hopefully worth trying once it's sorted. It is Windows.

Oh the fun I could have- Have a look at square foot gardenig Mar. I'm wondering if I still have any of my Alys Fowler books, she did a couple on growing a lot in small spaces, also one on foraging .If I manage to bring up Kale looking like a lettuce it will be fine. Lettuce, lettuce , lettuce doesn't have the same ring to it as Kale , Kale ,Kale so Kale it will be.

Vaccination was a very good experience, no pain, and no queue at all late afternoon so it’s a good time to book if you’re nervous. Had to wait afterwards as arm came up a bit blotchy, but otherwise fine. Everyone just seemed super happy to be part of something so positive, and it was yes to the dress for being sleeveless and easy access - MC seemed pleased by the gesture too. His jab is a couple of days after the funeral, and with luck the fear and sorrow will start to lift, been a long time since any of us breathed easily x

Cant be bothered with that Polly, I dont need to grow my own anyway there's an organic veg farm just a couple of miles away. I'm going to concentrate on flowers & herbs here cos I love them so much. Unless I do some wee salady stuff.

Another situation for which it's difficult to prep. Not one most of us would expect to face, although not too different in many ways to the threatened dam burst in 2019? Admit I do have a grab bag with essentials by the door and most documents in a single small folder but.....

I tossed a couple of packets of lettuce seeds in a large pot by the back door.  Easy pick salad. Might have eaten a few weeks as well, but they were fresh and green
