And vulnerable if they succumb to the virus or have to isolate. Badly paid and often not eligible for government support.

Think the ettiahad site gives the Astra zeneca which gives at least 60 % (vaguely recalled feel free to correct) on the 1st dose...where there are some reports that biontech only gives upwards of 35%. Back in work am not left the house since sunday....take care18

There’s a piece about Long Covid in the Guardian by George Monbiot for those who are interested. He likens it to ME/CFS and warns of the devastating impact that it could have on individuals lives as well as the economy.16

For all the prepping we do, for all the supplies and equipment we amass, for all the plans laid and preparations made for possibilities don't underestimate the absolute restorative joy that a walk on a sunny morning brings when the end of a grim Atlantic storm which has seen widespread flooding, disruption, snow at depth and all the other weather related problems comes to an end and the day dawns cold but bright and transforms into an almost perfect spring morning with a breeze, warm sun on your back and snowdrops nodding on sheltered banks on country lanes. Everyone is smiling 'good morning', 'isn't it lovely', 'blows the cobwebs away doesn't it?' and there is a sense of not wanting the walk to end as the feeling of being out in the sun and warm on your back is giving a 150% uplift to winter and pandemic jaded spirits...a day like this Oh YES is a gift!18

Also helps you bring heartbeat down if you suffer from anxiety. Maybe it’s something worth talking to a practise Nurse about. Self-management is all there is for now14

3second - i have recently bought one for DD who is suffering from post-viral 'something' (we don't know yet if it is / was covid). She had a panic moment a couple of nights ago when she couldn't get her breath and it reassured her that her SATS were fine which calmed her down. i was unsure whether to have one in case it brought out my inner hypochondriac but it got to a point that we were saying "at what point do we panic and consider 999 / A & E". this helps to reassure us that she is still safer at home.
Greenbee - she hasn't left the house since Dec 29th and would love, i'm sure, to go for a walk but is simply not well enough. I will read the article you cite as i think it will relate to her. THanks for the heads up.I wanna be in the room where it happens15 -
I know far more about ME/CFS than I want to. It has ruined my life and after 20 years I still struggle like hell to cope with it. My heart goes out to all those left with long covid fatigue, and the only good thing is that this might raise awareness and get some research done.

THanks for the heads up.My oxygen levels were stuck at 98% for a long time after my pneumonia but they were back up to 99% as soon as I had my blood transfusions 😃 I just find it so reassuring- although I hardly feel the need to use it any more.I do however take my temperature every day – my usual resting body temp is 36.2 but I’ve been having UTIs which don’t always present with a particularly high temp. I now know that the slightest rise above 37° it’s a prompt to call the doctor even though this wouldn’t be seen as a particularly high temperature. Also ladies of a certain age might be interested to know that your body temperature doesn’t actually increase when you have a hot flush - 😂😂😂19 -
I couldn't go walking in the Spring sunshine because I was busily earning a living and, by the time I'd finished, the sun had gone in. I did go for a little walk, amazed at the quietness of the city centre. The deafening absence of traffic, of passers-by, of light and movement, was the sound of an economy dying and the subliminal psychic pain of ten thousand shattered lives.
I've had ME/CFS for 35 years, developed from glandular fever. Barstewarding illness.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
