euronorris said:Well, I'm livid with the PM. Closing the schools is absolutely the right thing to do, but once again he's been a last minute nelly. So, we had to send our daughter in yesterday for one poxy day, mingling unnecessarily when he could have just made this announcement at the weekend. Instead, he went on live TV on Saturday and said "send your children to school", and then did a u turn less than 48 hours later. And again, he's given teachers and parents virtually no notice!! Arghhh Even if he had made this announcement on Sunday afternoon, it would have been better. And there is no way that the data changed so materially in 24 hours. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing17

Boris has been behind the curve all the way and sadly it has cost us dearly. I think he wants to win the popularity contest and not make tough decisions.
Was anyone else shocked by the 1 in 50 statistic? I had been following the statistics but the last time I saw a 1 in xx figure it was around 1 in 250 or something. I hadn't realised how bad things were. It is 1 in 30 in London.
The way I see it now is that when you go shopping to a supermarket statistically at least 1 person in the shop will have covid. So I am going to try and go during quieter times of the day and reduce the frequency of visits even more than before.
On prepping I stocked up a bit more the afternoon before the Boris announcement. I could see lockdown coming and was due a big shop so bought a few extras.
My mum was rushed to hospital over Xmas (non covid) and we are trying to get her a nursing home place. It feels like out of the frying pan into the fire!!16 -

I hope some people find that encouraging and, now the schools are closed in the main until mid-Feb, we can really get a grip and stop the spread.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
