Blimey, 10 weeks!! I'd have no space left for anything else
!! Especially as there's four of us! I have friends nearby who i am sure would pitch in, as i would them. When I inventoried the freezer last week, i think i counted a months worth of dinners and that is without the 'pasta and pesto' type options - but of course we are eating everything here so it isn't just dinners. I have soups, beans, tins of fish and lots of tinned fruit and cereal so i doubt we'd starve but it is a consideration. Thanks, it's worth remembering that it could be a lot longer - especially if we went down one after the other at 2 week intervals!
I wanna be in the room where it happens16 -
The rules are very confusing about how long you have to self isolate for. The clock doesn’t necessarily start again for everyone if one person gets it later than another. The second one to get COVID has to start the 10 day count again. But others in the family carry on counting from the first 10 day start unless they get symptoms
All fine in theory. But the Track and Trace outfit can’t always work out if you are a household. Take the example of a family living together A, B and C. A tests positive. So B and C will get told to self isolate for 10 days from the date A got symptoms as a contact of A. If B subsequently tests positive they will obviously have to self isolate for a full 10 days from when they got symptoms . C may or may not get a text or a call telling them to self isolate until the date B’s self isolation ends. They shouldn’t if they don’t have symptoms but it doesn’t always work properly. Usually because of confusion between the date symptoms start and the date tests are done.Ask me how I know thisIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!14 -
I have labelled the food so that the 2021 stuff is all in the main larder cupboard 2022 is on another shelf and 2023 on another. Really only concentrated on things like tinned tomatoes, tomato puree, ratatouille, cassoulet, tinned fish. Butter, lard, meat, cheese for cooking, poultry, game (cheaper than organic chicken),fish and gluten free stuff for husband.14

I'm trying to keep about a months food in. We would run short of fresh fruit and veg but we have frozen and tinned.
We are also making sure we are stocked up with the kind of food that we might want if we were ill with coronavirus or the flu-soup, tinned fruit , chicken and soft drinks.16 -

But I managed quite well with all my preps and some careful portion control. A neighbour picked up some fresh cream for me and that was all I needed until DD2 was able to go to the shop once she had served her timeIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. I have a 5 drawer tall freezer, bottom drawer is small normally has oven chips in, second one is huge has joints of meat and meats in freezer bags chicken breasts etc, next huge drawer frozen veg and fruit, next drawer not as deep easy food pizza etc, next drawer is for weeks worth of bread and fruit loafs etc. This will feed us for just over a month. The larder has soup, cereals, pasta etc. 2 adults 2 small children and a baby who eat the same dinners but some days eat more than us throughout the day! IF we had to make it last I'm not sure how long we would last a reasonable while but I wouldn't like to temp fate. This week because I couldn't be bothered with the shopping and the local bakery was closed so not delivering this week we have made one loaf of bread last 4 days normally it would last just over a day.

Signing up for milk doorstep deliveries from the milkman was so useful. He hasn't been able to take on any new customers since March so I'm glad I signed up way before this started. That and the breadmaker really help to minimise trips. Lidl always had bread flour throughout so I always make sure I have plenty in the stores and just rotate through itIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!16

I got a T&T ping when I got home from my 1 day a week in my workplace, which it seems is from my positive next-door neighbour (who I haven't even seen to wish HNY yet!), so I'm on 10 days isolation.
Luckily I nipped to Asda at 7.30am yesterday after Boris's announcement so got fresh stuff & yogurt then, I've got a freezer full of meat & fish and a good store cupboard so I think I will survive. Across the road neighbour has offered to get any fresh stuff I need, as has my brother.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
