@ GQ Down our way there was a group of 30 of 18 - 19 yr olds that got back from Zante last week, they didn't have any symptoms so decided to go out on the town to various cafes, pubs etc, 11 have now tested positive....so far! One poor cafe has been forced to close and all staff self isolate, PH are running around trying to trace where they have been/in contact with. It's far enough from us however I have seen a cluster not far from us which is concerning as up until now we were relatively clear.17

That’s horrendous, Thrifty, if I was one of those business owners or one of their employees, I would be beyond furious. I’ve recently had major surgery and had to self isolate for two weeks prior, and my household and I had to isolate for two weeks post op. Surgeon told me hightened risk of dying if I caught Covid in that immediate post op period. He’s has Covid himself and it’s been knocking the stuffing out of fit, active people in their prime.
I will likely be signed off as fit for work in the latter part of September, and will be making a phased return to a socially distanced office. Here’s hoping all will be OK, but I won’t be on a plain for a long time, DVT risk. You should see my lovely anti embolism stockings, lol.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I agree, I am presuming due to their ages that it was probably an end of summer/exam results planned holiday all 30 of them!!! Honestly ridiculous, I think the gov should of somehow jumped on that one and banned large groups going abroad or anywhere for that matter, before hand, granted they would of found it difficult to establish on paper if there was a group due to different addresses however it would have been clear at the airport that it was a group, as a fair number of cases in the early period were schools returning from skiing trips, but hey what do I know! The cafe news story said they were absolutely gutted. I know at 18 - 19 you are an adult but I would not be impressed if they were my child.
On a prepping point of view we now have a baby inhaler for the first aid box, hopefully it won't be required to much, it is a concern if our baby does have asthma, with DS due to start school in a bubble of 60, I would have felt a lot better if it were 30.13 -

Ok I need someone to be the voice of reason as i'm having a major wobble about DS starting school in just over a weeks time. My parent's live next door, my Dad is very high risk (if he caught it, I can't see how he would pull through), it is impossible to keep my Mum away from the children. What would you do....would you send DS to school as who know's when this will end, or look at homeschool with it in mind for the next year or so? Financially it's viable I just need to get more organised and not constantly clean the house, or do I send DS and keep it in mind that I pull him if things are looking bad, however this would be more difficult as he will of got use to it, or am I being completely crazy?! I was on board with it until I just spoke to a friend who informed me of 2 people she knew had died and a postman having had it.12
