My DH also had an email from work. He was furloughed and then back at work for four weeks so far. The company has said that those still on furlough will not be called in until at least Q4 this year Q1 next year. They have also stated there will be re-furloughs and redundancies to come due to lack of orders.
If we aren't prepping for one thing we're prepping for another. I'm off to freeze some flour.

Thrifty
These aren't cheap and I usually get them in the sales but try

The glympton and Chalford designs on the sale section would be good options but they also do more formal styles. I was so glad of them last winter as having dry feet makes everything so much more bearable.

Now you've made me buy some snow boots. Some more snow boots. To be fair though, I wear them most of the time in Winter when it is muddy, or the dogs pull me over.13

Hi all, long time reader 👋 I was wondering if any of you who are into preserving food have any ideas about making some sort of radish pickle that will keep over winter? I've had a look and the only ones I can find are to last a couple of weeks in the fridge. I've got loads to dig up and would like to add them to my "stores" 😊 thank you all.15

I just saw the trade talks with the EU have broken down and finished a day early. Again. Has anyone else got a real feeling of dread that we're headed to a no deal/ second wave/ huge recession this winter? Definitely time to get sowing winter veg and stocking up again 😬13

Yes. Loads of redundancies on the way up until and including October. Then we have to see if there is another plague wave when the colder weather kicks in. Then there is Brexit and more possible supply line problems. I think we just have to muddle through as best we can until next year when, hopefully, things may improve.14

I've had no joy with my veg growing, peas have gone mouldy, courgettes have not sprouted or died or been eaten, the only crop I have succeeded in is baby lettuce leaves grown in a window. two different lots and enough to give me salad leaves every couple of days. so will keep sowing them. so any suggestions for a green-leaved or another winter veg that I can try that is tough enough to survive but easy to grow loltoday's mood is brought to you by coffee, lack of sleep and idiots.
