This is probably not the thread to be precious on...
-taff what you see is a bit of bullying going on and all the more disgusting because the rest of OS can't see it for what it is.
fuddle.
Could, maybe, that group just kindly rub shoulders with MrsL given the bad feeling of the past. I know we all have the right to disagree question and so on but we all have feelings.
It is hurtful floss. On a friendly level if I can pull it back again. I didn't call you a bully personally. I suggested that a group of you are collectively behaving like bullies. I understand you haven't liked what I said but I'm just trying to stick up for my friend and I think you can understand that. Please, just leave MrsL be?
Ivyleaf I know we can't stay in forever and, if I may suggest that MrsL knows this as well - she has grandchildren to cuddle - but I don't have to think about it for another month until my shielding ends on June 30th. I do have to think about children going back to school and a DH working in a larger workforce all before my shielding ends. It's difficult mentally. I'll have to get my mindset prepared as best I can because I will have to get out in society. Just not yet.6 -
I deleted the two posts because they seemed to offend, I'm sorry you don't have them to read to make up your own minds about them. I do believe in my own posts, I would just like to say we are and have been socially distancing since before the official instruction came from the government. We have been strictly in accord with the rules set down been walking out for exercise once a day or visiting the allotment once a day to work on the plots. We haven't been to or near any other person, to or near a shop or to the high street in the village other than to walk along it to get back home. I am worried about the easing but that's MY problem and no one elses'. We have, other than these two occupations been at home in social distancing mode. We have driven to our daughters home on two occasions to deliver things to her that we had and she needed , again done carefully maintaining social distancing.
I maintain you are all entirely right to have your own opinions and stance on everything in life, I don't expect anyone to subscribe to my opinion on anything, I don't expect anyone to change their own to match mine. We are adults and we are all different and respond in very different ways to what life throws our way.
If there are differences of opinion I am happy with that, if however there are differences of opinion because it's me posting them that's not so good but as I said we are all adults and I can cope perfectly well with folks not seeing things as I do. It's a free world and these are open forums so all the world can post on them.14 -
VJsmum said:HOpefully as time goes on 'we' are getting more knowledgeable - we know how it is spread, how to avoid coming into contact without isolation, treatments are improving, the most vulnerable are easier to identify and therefore shield. it's all about the education isn't it? It isn't going away, the vaccine is still probably a long way off, but life and society can and will change - a paradigm shift, i think.
(Edit - ah i see some posts have been deleted, either by Fuddle or admin, specifically accusing myself and a couple of others of bullying - just for context)...I wanna be in the room where it happens18 -
Although I don’t post on here often, I am a regular reader and value the different points of views posters have and hope everyone keeps posting their personal views which, of course, will differ as we are all individuals with differing circumstances.I am in the unenviable position of getting the staff team back to work from 8th June, it will be phased and slow will everyone working a max of two days in and the remaining days from home so we can manage social distancing and stay as safe as possible. Currently we are all working from home on full pay, however, only about 70 percent of our duties can be carried out from home so we have to go back. The differing views on here have helped me hugely with how to manage the uncertainties and different situations the staff team face. Personally I feel a little hypocritical as if I had school age children, I definitely wouldn’t be sending them to school until at least September.
I think the whole purpose of a forum is debate and I value Mrs LW posts as I do everyone’s, but personally I haven’t seen anything that I would consider bullying.

Is anyone else as worried as I am about the lack of access to dentistry and no information forthcoming about what is planned to cover this, apart from the few hubs that may/may not be operating, and are only able to do extractions anyway?I am clinically vulnerable and shielding at home due to Lymphoma and not having a spleen, both mean that should I get an infection, it could overwhelm my body very quickly, and this includes any dental infection. I also have a dental phobia, which doesn't help! I've prepped as well as I can by having pain relief, oragel, and a dental repair kit, but if anyone can think of anything that I could include in my stores to go with that, I would be very glad to read your thoughts.I've always been a prepper, and very glad I am of it now, but daft as it sounds, I never really believed I'd need to cover a situation like this. I've always thought about weather events, unemployment, illness, that type of scenario. I literally feel that I went to bed one night clutching a cosy Agatha Christie book and woke up in the middle if a Stephen King novel.People Say that life's the thing - but I prefer reading

Oh goodness, yes, getting the children back to school
Our DGS goes to a boys' school and I suspect they'll all try to act very gung-ho about it, even if they don't feel it. DGD and her friends will probably be pretty reluctant to go back, even though it looks as if it won't be before September. They've both been getting loads of work to do online at home but I hope that by the start of the summer holidays they'll be able to get out and about more. We haven't seen them since February. I've seen DD1 once in April and once during May, to collect/swap grocery items. (While doing the social distancing thing.)

Taurusgb, my job is exec assistant in a large world-renowned children's hospital and I have heard the Agatha Christue / Stephen King analogy several times recently. I'm also very proud of the way our paediatric nurses cared for the adults placed in our wards.
The dental thing isn't too much of a worry, although I know there will be work (at a cost) when things settle to the new norm. I'm more bothered about my eyesight - as I'vebeen working from home since mid March, my desk set up & the laptop screen/widescreen monitor combo has exacerbated the need for a new prescription for my almost 3y.o.varifocals, but at least the money I'm saving in NOT driving to work etc has come in useful for jobs in my house & garden, to top up my food stores and to allow a fortnightly foodbank donation.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I worry about dentists too. A filling fell out of the back of my front tooth 2 days after lockdown - sod's law!! I've used a dental repair kit, but can't do it properly. I've either missed the hole, or covered the back of several teeth. If my front tooth breaks, I'll have to go out in a mask or I'll look like a witch.12

Well, let's hope I am completely and utterly wrong in my assumptions. I am sure that from now on there will be careful consideration when addressing MrsL from the people involved.
Apologies for derailing the thread but the foul language when quoting MrsL was the last straw.
