Yes we've seen it . We're already taking supplements. We usually do take it over the winter but carried on this year as we weren't able to go on our usual long walks. I got some more tablets on Tuesday. There seemed to be plenty in the supermarket which rather surprised me .10

We live in the town centre with nowhere really to bug out to. I suppose we could camp at the allotment, otherwise the best place is probably with OH‘s parents in a village relatively nearby. I used to have a BOB when I lived on my own but dismantled it prior to moving in with OH so I might create a new one. The main scenarios I would be thinking of are house fire, needing to evacuate due to nearby gas leak, social unrest. There are areas in around our town which are prone to flooding so we made sure not to buy a house with that risk - they are building loads there! Previously I lived in a city centre and terrorism was a concern but not so much where we live now.Original mortgage free date: November 2044Current mortgage free date: November 2038Chipping away...11

Yes to the vitamin D and we're taking supplements of D3, zinc and vitamin C all of which boost immunity.11

Another reason to up sticks and leave your home at short notice? Lots of people in this country had to do just that a few months ago when we had incidences of heavy flooding. There are still people around who got flooded out a year or two back and life is still not back to normal for them. One life - your life - live it!10

We walked this afternoon which was fine as we walked out of the village and passed no one and passed no one when we walked back along the lanes but there is traffic as normal here today so the lanes aren't as safe as they were. We then walked to the allotment before going home and I've never seen it so busy, people making very little effort to socially distance but most worrying is the number of groups of teens out in clumps not making even the slightest effort to socially distance. I worry greatly for the coming weekend if the weather is as fine and warm as they predict as people seem to be acting as if covid is gone, a thing of the past and I really really worry at the potential for great numbers of new cases in a couple of weeks time. Be vigilant over the next weeks if you are shielding if you go out walking for exercise, it's very difficult to stay away the distance you're supposed to because other people aren't!12

I would only bug out under the extreme situations already mentioned, maybe hooking up with nearby friends, you would not only have to be an expert survivalist, but able and prepared to defend your self... as you compete with others for scarce resources....bought a couple more reusable masks from a site called etsy...which is made up mainly of small crafters....my masks from wawa clothing as yet to arrive.....one hour left in work.....back in tomorrow it's my clients birthday try to make a fuss but he usually doesn't bother too much about it......stay safe15

Hey, we were world leaders in pandemic planning but then the money got pruned & consequentially so did the planning. The lads occasionally grab a bag & bug out for a few days as that's their idea of a holiday. Me, I am less prepared for that but much better at other preparedness - financial, structural etc. And am now pondering what state their BOB gear is in , in case. My car bag definitely needs an overhaul, not least as I scrapped the car 3 days before the need for an MOT was lifted. (Bah.)I have a strong sense that in another 3 weeks there'll be another spike - and that since it'll vary by region, it'll be allowed to burn as locking down again will seem "wrong". Even if possibly vital. I ever did take a dim view of some humans' nature.17

I'm in agreement that there will be a second spike, and that TPTB will basically ignore or gloss over it; I think their paymasters feel we've had enough "time off" now. So I shall just do my best to limit time spent in situations that put my hackles up like supermarkets & DiY emporia. I don't know when, or even if, my markets will start back up again but I'm not sure it would be a good idea to plunge straight back into them; my regular customers, by & large, are absolutely lovely, but there are always one or two who aren't too clear on the idea of personal space, never mind social distancing. I might just retreat into online sales for now; I'm lucky that I can do that, but long-term I wouldn't want to lose my "following" or my favourite pitches & I do enjoy the days out & making people happy!Angie - GC Aug25: £106.61/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)16

No particular bugout location for us. Though we are pretty well situated for most issues. Most likely scenarios we can envisage are fire or flood. We'd likely go to MIL in either case, unless the flooding affected them too. In which case FIL would also be out as they often get cut off each year by flooded roads anyway, so then we would either head north to brother, or east to either my parents or another sibling. Would depend entirely on how well each one was doing at the time. My parents have lots of space, but practically on the sea front, so may necessitate imposing ourselves on a sibling instead, with less space.February wins: Theatre tickets10
